HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/4/19491� RF&MM ON Commissioner Sylvester Woods introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption, to -wits WHEREAS9 There is a surplus under the item of number 699 in the Quay Bridge Fund of Indian River County and which surplus exists after the payment of all necessary expendi- tures under such items for the current fiscal year; and WHEREAS, there is a deficiency in funds necessary to provide for the proper and authorized expenditures under the item of nmber 415 in said Quay Bridge Fund' and SEAS' said items mentioned are a part of the same Fund and transfer of monies herewith authorized is a transfer from one item to another item in the same Fund and is not a transfer from one Fund to another Fund; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that there is herewith transferred the sum of $1600.00 from the item of number 699 to the item of number 415 all in the Quay Bridge Fund of the current budget of.Indian River County' upon the approval of the State Comptroller. Upon being duly seconded by Commissioner Aubrey L. Waddell; the same was unanimously adopted. There being no further busindss.on motion made, seconded and carried, the.Board then adjourned. The Board of County Commissioners of Indian Riven County met at the Court House in a regular meeting at 10:00 o'clock A. M., Tuesday' October 41 19499 with the following members presents W. C. Graves, Jr., Chairman; Tom N. Stewart, Aubrey L. Waddellf H. C. Watts, and Sylvester Woods. Also present were Charles A. Mitchell, Attorney; E. E. Carter, Road and Bridge Superintendent; L. B. O'Steen, Sheriff; and Douglas Baker, Clerk. The minutes of the previous meetings were read and uppnomotion of Commissioner Stewart seconded by Commissioner Waddell and carried were approved. A committee consisting of Lou Tiller, Kit Johnson and J. R. Graves, appeared be- fore the Board requesting an appropriation to assist in the expenses for the sponsoring of a fishing tournament for Indian River County. Said committee requested contribution of $500.00. After careful consideration and discussion in the matter' on motion of Commissioner Stewart seconded by Commissioner Waddell and carried the sum of $200.00 was appropriated and ordered paid from the General Revenue Fund to the Chamber of Commerce for advertising purposes of Indian River County. A committee consisting of Commissioners Stewart and Waddell together with E. E. ,A a Carter, Road and Bridge Superintendent, were appointed to make arrangements for the taking of pictures to be made immediately after the next hurricane or any other disaster for the purpose' yr ' of having and using same in securing emergency funds or other assistance for the people of Indian River County. TO THE HON. BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER CO., VERO BEACH, FLORIDA. Gentlemen: I, W. A. Siewert, of the County of Indian River State of Florida, being the owner of Tax Sale Certificate No. 94 dated the 1st day of June 1943, in the sum of $1.67 covering the following described property' to -wits Tract 103 (less N 107 ft.), Twp. 31 S., Rge. 37 E. hereby make application to your Honorable Body to issue a duplicate:Tax Sale Certificate in lieu of the original described herein for the following reasons: (1) That said Tax Sale Certificate was purchased by me January 24, 1946 for which I paid the sum of $7.45. (2) That said Tax Sale Certificate, or any interest therein, has not ,been hypothe- cated, sold, assigned, transferred or delivered by me and I have received no consideration therefor. (3) That said Tax Sale Certificate has been lost or destroyed and that I have made diligent search and am unable to locate said certificate. (4) That if duplicate Certificate is issued in lieu thereof and the original should at any time be located, the same will be surrendered to the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Indian River County for cancellation. (5) That I, W. A. Siewert, as a further consideration acknowledge myself.held and firmly bound unto Douglas Baker, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Indian River County, and his successors in office, in the sum of $14.90, being double the amount of the face value of said Tax Certificate, for payment whereof well and truly to be made, I bind myself, heiro, exe- cutors and administrators firmly by these presents should said Certificate be presented by any person whomsoever, assigned or otherwise, for payment or applicatiov,for.Tax Deed thereon. I solemnly swear, or affirm, that the statements contained herein in support of my application for issuance of duplicate Tax Sale Certificate, are true and correct. -So held me God. pert(SEAL) Witnesses: -Kla M. The foregoing application coming on to be heard on this date by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, and after due consideration, the Board having thoroughly investigated said matter and being fully satisfied that said claim is a valid one, It is considered and ordered, upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, that the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Indian River County be and he is hereby instructed to issue a cuplicate Tax Sale Certificate in favor of the above named applicant in lieu of the Certi- ficate above described which has been lost or destroyed, and that proper record of same be entered in the Tax Sale Record in the office of the said Clerk, as provided in Chap. 193.59 of the Fla. M., October 179 1949, for the furnishing of binders, filiAg equipment and supplies and other equipment necessary for the registration of voters in Indian River County under either of chapters 25391 or 25154 adopted at the regular session of tha Elorida Legis- lature in 1949. M The several bills and accounts Against the Co=ty,, having been-auditedl were ex- amined and found correct, were approved and garrants.issued in settlement of same. Such bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Cou.rtq the Warrants so issued from the respective funds being listed in the Supplemental Minute Booko as prow oed by the rales of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list so recorded being made a part of these minutes. The Coity Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts and disburse- ments of the various fundsp which having been audited were found to be correct. There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried, the Board then adjourned until 10s00 o'clock A. M., Mondayq October i7: 1949.
