The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were ex-
amined and found correct, were approved and warrants issued in settlement of same. Such
bilis and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the
Warrants so issued from the respective funds being listed in the Supplemental Minute Book,
as provided by the rules of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list so
recorded being made a part of these minutes.
The County Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts and disburse-
ments of the various funds, which having been audited were found to be correct.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried, the Board
then adjourned.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 1950.
The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court House in
special meeting at 1Qa00 O'clock A. M., Wednesday, October 11, 1950, with the following
members present: W. C. Graves, Jr., Chairman; H. C. Watts, Aubrey L. Waddell and Tom N.
Stewart. Absents Sylvester Woods. Also present were S. N. Smith, Jr., Attorney; E. E.
Carter, Road and Bridge Superintendent and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
As provided by Law the Board then proceeded to review the Registration Books of
Indian River County, Florida, and after such review and examination it was moved by
Commissioner Stewart, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and unanimously carried, that the
Board found no names to be erased from the Registration books of the County.
Notary Public Bond for John R. Gould in the sum of $500.00 with American Surety
Company of New York as surety was approved October 6, 1950, by Douglas Baker, Clerk Circuit
Court, as provided by law.
Harry W. Demerow, Superintendent of Public Utilities, representing the City of
Vero Beach, appeared before the Board and presented the following letter.

Indian River County, Florida
Gentlemen: -
The Mayor and City Council of Vero Beach have asked me to make this formal request
that the County Commission askethe State Road Department for all the salvage material in the
old Vero Beach Bridge remaining west of the Channel and that the part of the bridge east of
the channel to be left in place for a public fishing and recreation pier; that the contractor
be authorized to deliver the salvaged materials to the east bridge -head instead of tb the
Ft. Pierce, and that the salvaged bridge material be turned over to the City for use in con-
structing docks, bulkheading and other improvements on the City owned property on the east
shore of the Indian River. The City agrees to maintain the east end of the bridge as a
public pier.

Thereupon, the following Resolution was introduced by Commissioner Stewart who
moved its adoption as follows, to -wit:

WHEREAS, the existing wooden bridge traversing the Indian River at Vero Beach,
Florida, was originally constructed by a Special Tax District of Indian River County, Florida;
and
WHEREAS, the contract with Cleary Brothers ®onttruction Company and the State Road
Department of the State of Florida for the erection of a new concrete bridge replacing this
old wooden structure provides for the removal of the existing wooden structure; Now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida,
that this Board does herewith request the State Road Department of the State of Florida to
deliver all of such salvaged materials from said existing wooden bridge to Indian River
County, Florida, at the East bridge -head of said existing bridge.
The foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Waddell and unanimously
adopted.
The Board proceeded to and did name and select the following persons as Inspectors
and Clerk of election of the various precincts to hold and conduct the General Election to
be held Tuesday, November 7, 1950.

Vero Beach, Florida, at 10:00 A. M., Tuesday, October 24, 1950, in regular adjourned meeting

Waddell and. Sylvester Woods. Absents H. C. Watts. Also present were E. E. Carter, Road
and Bridge Superintendent, George Heath, Attorney from the firm of Mitchell, Smith & Mitchell,
