relating to plumbing fixtures, lavatories and other Jail equipment for the second floor of addi-
tions to the Indian River County Jail.
Upon motion of Commissioner Graves, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and carriedp
Letters of Agreement were authorized relating to obtaining right-of-way deeds for the widening
of State Road'No. 5, within the City limits of Vero Beach, and copies of said Letters to be
,filed in the Clerk's Office as to the following individuals:

Mr. and Mrs. 0. K. Johnson Vero Beach, Florida
Pursuant to request of the Board, March 6, 1951 inventory lists were submitted to
the Board and, ordered filed with the Clerk from the following:

Upon motion of Commissioner Graves, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and carried,
transfers of funds were authorized as provided in the 1951-1952 budget and as previously record-»
ed in the minutes of this Board.
A certified copy of Resolution adopted by the Board, of County Commissioners of
reque tin Fellsmere cross State Road be re -opened by State Road Department
Brevard Cour y/was received with the request that a similar Resolution be adopted by this Board -
and after consideration of the matter, and upon motion of Commissioner Graves, seconded by Com-
missioner Waddell and carried, the matter was tabled and Douglas Baker, Clerk, instructed to rew
ply to said Board in Brevard County that this Board was sympathetic in the matter and would co-
ordinate our efforts with the Central and South Florida Flood Control Program.
The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were ex
amined and found correct, were approved and warrants issued in settlement of same. Such bills
and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the warrants so
issued from the respective funds being listed in the Supplemental Minute Book, as provided by
the rules of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list so recorded being made a
part of these minutes.
The County Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts and disburse-
ments of the various funds, which having been audited were found to be correct.
There being no further business, on motion made, seconded and carried, the Board'
then adjourned.

The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court House
in special meeting at 10:00 o'clock A. M., Tuesday, October 9, 1951, with the following members;
present: Tom N. Stewart, Chairman; W. C. Graves, Jr., H. C. Watts, Aubrey L. Waddell, and J. J4,

P. Hamilton. Also present were: S. N. Smith, Jr., Attorney, and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
Chairman Stewart announced this meeting was called for the purpose of adopting
Resolution relating to the closing, vacating and abandoning road in the Roseland area, and such;
other business as might be properly brought before the Board.

RESOLUTION -- CLOSING, VACATING AND ABANDONING ROAD -- SEVERIN H. HANSON
ROSELAND, FLORIDA
Commissioner Waddell introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption,
as follows, to -wit:
R E S O L U T I O N
BE IT ..RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida,
that this Board does herewith find and determine as follows:
1. That Severin H. Hanson and Helen Hanson, his wife, filed a Petition before
this Board on the 4th day of September, 1951, at a meeting of said Board, requesting this Board
to adopt a Resolution closing, vacating and abandoning the road or street and renouncing and -
relinquishing the rights of Indian River County, Florida, or the public in and to all that part
of Cherokee Street lying more than 40 feet on each side of a line described as follows:
Beginning at a point 37 3/10 feet from the Northwest corner of Block 19,
according to the Town Plat of Wauregan, which point is on the West line
of said Block, thence running East on an interior angle with the West
line of said Block of 90 degrees 12 minutes for a distance of 280.8 feet
to ' a point, thence on a tangent line to a point on the West line of Lot
11, said point being 122 feet South of the Northwest corner of , lot 11,
except, however, Manatee Avenue, Brevard Avenue and Wauregan Avenue; all
according to the plat of Wauregan, as recorded in Plat Book 1, pages 178
and 1?9, in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of St. Lucie
County, Florida, now situated in Indian River County, Florida.
2. That this Board has published Notice thereof one time in the Vero Beach Press -
Journal, a newspaper of general circulation in Indian River County, Florida, said publication
being published at least two weeks prior to the date stated therein for such public hearing.
3. That that part of said Cherokee Street described above delineated upon said
recorded map or plat above described is not a State or Federal road maintained by the State of
Florida and that said street, road or highway delineated on said recorded map or plat is not
located within the incorporated limits of any municipality and is located in Indian River County,
.Florida.
4. That a public hearing thereon has been held by the Board of County Commissio-
ers of Indian River County, Florida, in the office of said Board in the Indian River County Court-
house, Vero Beach, Florida, on October 9, 1951, at 10:00 o'clock A.M.; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board does herewith close, vacate and abandon
any public or private street, road, alleyway or other place used for travel and all portions
thereof and does herewith renounce and disclaim any right of Indian River County, Florida, and
the public in and to all land delineated as a street, road or highway as to that part of Cherokee
Street above described.
Motion for the adoption of the Resolution was duly made by Commissioner Hamilton
and unanimously carried.
Notary Public bond for Beverly A. Frank in the sum of $500.00 with St. ,Paul Mer-
cury Indemnity Company as surety was approved October 4, 1951 by Douglas Baker, Clerk Circuit
Court, as provided by law.
Notary Public bond for Ruby Bennett in the sum of $500.00 with St. Paul Mercury
Indemnity Company as surety was approved October 4, 1951 by Douglas Baker, Clerk Circuit Court,;
as provided by law.
Notary Public bond for Albert F. Schmidt in the sum of $500.00 with American
Surety Company of New York as surety was approved October 5, 1951 by Douglas Baker, Clerk Circuit
Court, as provided by law. 4.
There being no further business, on motion made, seconded and carried, the Board'
then adjourned.

The Board 9)f County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court House
in regular meeting at 10:00 o'clock A. M., Tuesday, November 6, 1951, with the following members
present: Tom N. Stewart, Chairman; W. C. Graves., Jr., H. C. Watts, J. J. P. Hamilton and Aubrey
L. Waddell. Also present were John Gould, Attorney, from the firm of Mitchell, Smith and Mitchell,
E. E. Carter, Road and Bridge Superintendent, L. B. 0?Steen, Sheriff, and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
At the request of Chairman Stewart, Vice -Chairman Graves presided over the meet-
ing.
Minutes of the previous meetings were read and the same approved upon motion of
Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by commissioner Waddell and carried.
A delegation representing Indian River Hospital, Inc., consisting of Messrs. Cox$
Gardner, Thatcher and Egan, together with Mrs. Radin and Mrs. Grant appeared before the. Board

tion and discussion of the matter, said delegation was advised funds%enot available at the pre- .
sent time but would be paid to them at the earliest possible date.
Mr. H. A. Elliot of the Blood Program Committee for Indian River County appeared
before the Board making an appeal for blood donors from the County Officials, Officers and em-
ployees. Mr. Elliot was assured that cooperation to the fullest extent would be given.
