The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, met at the Court House in Vero Beach, on Tuesday, June 7th 1927 at 10 o'clock A.M.with the following members of the Board present: John H. Atkin, Chairman.; Geo.A.Braddock; J.W.L9Bruoe; J.J.P.Hamilton and O.O.Helseth. and J. Vf. Knight, Sheriff. Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. Mrs H.J.Kuppers and Mrs Fred E.King, representing the Woman's Club appeared befoi the Doard and announced that the Ford car purchased for use of the County Nurse was paid for in full and on behalf of the Club presented the car to the Board of County Commissioners for the use of the County lUurse. Also check for X40.00 to reimburse t Board for one payment on the car. it was ordered that the car be accepted by the Bo and all future operating expense and up -keep be borne by the County. Claude Olmstead appeared before the Board regarding railroad crossing near his place at wabas so. It wa,s ordered that the County Attorney take the matter up with Florida Past Coast Railway officials. The County Engineer was instructed to repair the road from Gifford to the Indian Rive r. It was ordered that the County Engineer open up the road from Oslo to the Indian River on the same line that the road is now located. At the request of Paul H. Nisle, it was ordered that the County purchase equip - vent to test alcoholic contents of liquors and beer in trials for such law violations in this County. The following resolution was introduced: The Commissioners of the Sebastig. Inlet District having presented to us a resolution asking us as County Commissioners of Indian River County, along with the County Commissioners of Brevard County, Florida, to call on election to be held in said Sebastian Inlet District in each of the respedtive eountiev composing the said district, and in conformity with an act of the legislature of the State of Florida f or 1927 -° an act entitled# An Act Amending Chapter 7976, laws of Florida for the Year 1919 Creating said Sebastian Inlet District"; And in conformity with said request of said Commissioners of said Sebastian Inlet District, and in conformity with the law above mentioned, BE IT FOSOiVED by the County Commissioners of Indian River County that a special election be, and the same is hereby called for June 289 A. D. 19279 in that part of Indian River County, Florida which composes a part of the Sebastian Islet District, for the purpose of determining Owhether the Board of Commissioners of Sebastian Inlet District as now constituted shall be authorisedeto issue additional bonds in the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand ($2500000.04) Dollars for the purpose of enlarging, lengthening, deepening and widening of the Sebastian Inlet as at present located, and the construction and erection of jetties in connection therewith." A mot -ion was made by Geo, A'. Braddock that the above resolution be adopted, and the call for the election in conformity therewith be issued and published ac - co rding to law, seconded by J. J. P. Hamilton, and after discussion thereof, the same was put to a vote which was carried unanimously. r The following persons were appointed Inspectors and. PRECINCT NO.2 SEBASTIAN. P. P. lawson; Mrs. `S. A. Park and Mrs Rebecca J.Braddock, Inspectors and V. L. Brad- dock, Clerk. It vas ordered that the South Winter Beach road be surfaced with marl as soon as the County Engineer can get to this work. It was ordered that the County Engineer install the necessary drain pipes under State Road No. 4 to take care of Drainage of lands between the East Coast Railroad tracks and `State Road #4 South of Vero Beach. Upon Motion of J. W. LaBru6e the following Resolution was adopteds Whereas, an agreement was entered into between the Florida East Coast Railway Company and Indian River Couhty, Dated April 25th, 19279 relating to the procurement Of right of mW for State 'Road. No. 49 through certain property of the Railway Company in Section 319 Township 33, South, Barge 40 East, in said Indian River County; and WAEREAS,, in the opinion of the Commissioners of Indian River County, it is deemed advisable to revoke and annul said, agreement and enter into a new agreement with said Railway Company covering such right of way; and WHERE, the Railway Company has submitted new f orin of agreement between it and Indian River County covering such matter which agreement has been approved by the Atto cif this Board; NOW9 TBEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Indian Diver County, Florida' as follows t County Commissioners in and for i 7A (1) That said Indian River County, a politi tal subdivision of the State of Florida$ acting by and through its Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River Countys Florida, does hereby agree to enter into an agreement with the Florida East Coast Railway Company, a corporation, covering procuremait of right of way for State Road Ko. 4 through certain property of the Railway Company .at the location therein described, the conditions and terms as set forth in copy of proposed agreement dated June 7th, 1927, attached hereto and made a part hereof. (2) That John H. Atkin, as Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of said River County, with the attestation of Miles Warren, as Clerk of this .Board be, d they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to execute said agreement for on behalf of Indian River County, and to submit the same for eaeuution to the proper orporate officers of the Floride, East Coast Railway Company. The several bills against the County, having been audited, were examined and correct, were approved and warrants issued in settlement of sane. Said bills eing on file in the Clerk's office and made apart of these minutes. The County Depositories filed their monthly statements of the various funds of County, which were found to be correct.
