TRAY, FEBRUARY 2nd 1928.
' The Board of County uommisioners in and for Indian RiverCounty, Florida, met at
the Court House in Vero Beach, on Tuesday, February 2nd, 1928 at 10 o'clook A.H.with
the following members of the Board presents John H. Atkin, Chairman; G.A.Braddook;
J.T.LsBruoe; Donald Forbes and 0. 0. Helseth. Also present were Miles 1ldrren, Clerk
and J.J.Knight, Sheriff.
The minutes of the previous, meetings were read and approved.
The Notary Publio_bond of Ater T James, in the sum of $500.00 with the Ame:awn
Surety Company. of New York, a corporation as surety was approved.
The Notary Public bond of B.H.Phillips, in the sum of $500.00 with the American
Surety Company, of New York, a corporation as surety was approved.
The Notary Public bond of Frank Z. Oliver, in the sum of $500.00 with the American
Surety Company, of New York, a corporation as surety waa approved.
The Notary Public bond of id+s Julia Ingersoll, in the sum of $500.00 with the
American Surety Company., of New York, a corporation as surety was approved.
The Deputy Sheriff bond of •.B.Davis, in the sum of $1,000.00 withJ.II.Snight and
Louis Harris, as sureties was approved.

22 Township 32 South of Range 39 Bast, running Vest 14 mile, this temporary road tbat's
being use to far South of the line, .this road is very badlt needed and is of great
valve to the Cosnty--Vero Beach --and the land owners. It is needed for it's sand values
to Vero Beaoh.
The Board having considered said petition, and being advised by the County Bngin-
eer that same was declared a public County road by the Board of County Commissioners of
St. Lucie County, it was. ordered maid petition be tabled.

the plat accompanying this petition, and relinquish all claims for damage by reason
thereof.
- It was ordered that A.h.Hill, A.W.Young and D.L.Leisher, be appointed a Committee
to view, mark out said road and report to this Board.
- Check in the amount of $1170.00 was received by the Vero Beach Chamber of Con-
merce for back rent on the Court House quarters for the period beginning Jauly lst,1925,
and ending January let 1926. After considerable discussion, on roll call the following
vote was cast with respect to the proposition of accepting �r rejecting the check.

SECTION It There is hereby granted to Florida Power and Light Caapany, its
successors and assigns (herein called the Grantee) the right, privilege and authority
for the lu11 period of thirty (30) years from date of the passage of this resolution,
to construct, maintain and operate in, upon, along, under and across the present exist-
ing and future public -roads, highsaya, streets, avenues, alleys,. bridges, easements,
and other public places in Indian River County, and its succeesors,.except such city or
town streets as are located within the territorial limits, as nos constituted, of incor-
porated cities or towns over which the Board of County,Cammiseioners has no jurisdiction,
electric light and power transmission and distribution lines, together with all necessary
or desirable appurtenances, (including poles, towers, conduits and wires and, for graat-
sets own use, telephone and telegraph lines) for the purpose of supplying electricity to
Laid County and its successors, the inhabitants thereof and persona and corporatione bs-
yoad the bits thereof, for light, heat, power and other purposes.
83CTION lit As a condition precedent of the taking affect of this grant, the
County of Indian River hereby reserved such right as is given to it by Section 1844 of
the Revised General Statutes of Florida, of 1920, if applicable, and as it is required
to reserve by said section, if ppplicable, to purchase at and after the expiration of
the tea of this gran: the property of the Grantee as and to the extent provided in and
required by such section, and the Grantee by the acceptance hereof shall be deemed to
have given and granted to Indian River County the right to purchase so reserved..
SECTION' IIIc That poles and towers shall be so located as not to intssfsrs
with truffle star such public roads, highways, streets, avenues, alleys, bridges, ease-
ments, and other public places, and the location thereof, or re -location as nay be do -
sired by the Orontes hers or required by the County, shall be made under the shpsrvis-
ion of said Board of County Commissioners or such engineer or superintendent as sorbs
designated by it fes' such purpose, but not so as unreasonably to interfere with the
proper operation of Grantee's lines or service.
SZCTION IPt Said Indium River County shall in no wp be liable Or responsible
for any accident or damage that may occur in the construction, operation or maintenance
by the Grantee of its lines and appurtenances hereunder.

Court House on Saturday February 13th, 1926 at 2 o'clock P.M. The following members of
the Board were present: John H Atkin, Chairman; J.N.LaBruce; G.A.Braddock, Donald
Forbes and 0.0.Helseth. Also present was Miles warren, Clerk, by Deputy,
The Notary Public Bond of P. E. Gallagher in the eau of $000.00, with American
Surety Casmpany of New Toth, as surety, wisp iMpmivsd.
The Notary Public Bond of 0. H. Braddock, in the sum of $500.00, with American
Surety Company of New Work as surety, was approved.
A cements* from; the Vero Beach Realty Board, canposed of Mr. V. 1. Sexton, Yr.
C. R. Cobb and Mr. C. J. Vinusdge, appeared before the Board, with request that:the
Beard a Ceanty Commissioners employ a County Rant Demonstration Agent for this County.
After discussion of the natter, this Committee was invited to report and be present at
the next regular meeting of this Beard.
Judge R. R. Willer and A. 0. Roberts, appeared before the Board and filed petition

first having subscribed to the oath required by law before entering on our duties macs
this our general reports That we proceeded to the said proposed location of the said
public road upon the lath day of February, 1926, and viewed and marked out the following
as the best route for said proposed road. (Said road in to be fifty (50) feet wide)
Beginning at a point in the Old Dixie Highway, and on the South line of 0.A.B raddoak's
fara in Sec. 17; Twp. 31 8; R. 39 R., and on the Bast Right of Tay Line of the Florida
Bast Coast Railway; Thanes Vest across the Railway to a point 25 ft. westerly from the
Test Right of Tay Line of the Florida last Coast Railway; Thence South-lasterly along
and parallel to the Florida Rost Coast Railway to the North line of Seo. 20, Twp. 31 S;
R. 39 1., to the road already declared; the above described line being the center line
of the road.
Therefore, having performed the duties required by lax under the appointment of
your honors, we prey to be discharged.

election held in Indian River County,Florida, on February 9th, 1926, on the Ssastion of
the changing of the County Site of said County and to declare the timault of said elect-

THSRIAS, it appears from the returns of the said election that at said election
863 votes were cast in favor of Vero Beach as the County Site of said County, and 368 rs
rotes were cast in favor of Tinter Beach as the County Site of said County; and
MESAS, the Dealt of County Comszissioners of Indian River County has canvassed the
returns -of said election, and the result as ahoem by the certificates of the Clercs and
Inspectors thereof and has found the seine correct; therefore be it
RISOLVUD, That the City of Vero Beach has received a majority of all the votes
cast at the election held in Indian River County, Florida, on February 9th, 1926, for
the location of the County Site of said County, and that said City of Vero Beach, be,
and the sane is, hereby declared duly elected the County Site of said County by virtue
of said election, and that the result of said election, as it appears from the returns
sigsed by the said election officers, be, and the same is hereby declared to be correct.
The foregoing Resolution having been put to a vote, was upon roll call, adopted
by the following vote:

Commissioner J. T. IoNruce reported the proposed road from Eon Gallie to Test
Pals Beach, running parallel with the present Dixie Highway, to relieve the aonjestion
of traffic on the Dixie Highway, and after discussion, the Clerk was instructed to write
Hon. J. L. Cresap, State Highway Engineer, Tallahassee, Florida, for advice in the
matter.
Moved and carried that the Board take into consideration the location of the Court
House at the next regular meeting to be held on the first 'Tuesday in March.
There being no further hominess, on motion made, seconded and carried, the Board
adjourned until the next regular meeting in March, 1926.
