The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, met at the Court House in Vero Beach, on Tuesday June let 1926, with the following members of the Board presents John H. Atkin, Chairman; G. ,'A. Braddock; 3. W. LaBxuce; Donald Forbes and 0. 0. Heleeth. Also present were Miles Warren, Cleric and J. W. Knight,Sheriff. The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved. The following names having been certified by the Secretary of State under date of Map- 11, 1926, ae candidates same were ordered placed on primary election to be held for the State offices set opposite their respective names, the official primary ballot of the Democratic Party for the Tuesday June 8th 1926. MINI re Buford The Secretary of State having under date of May 19th 1926 certified to this Board that Angus Sumner and Edwin Brobston, candidates for State Attorney, Twenty-first Judi- cial Circuit of Florida, having failed to file their sworn statement of campaign expense as required by law, were declared eliminated as such candidates, and the Secretary of S tate hawing riled an additional certificate under date of May 12, 1926 declaring Alte Adams, candidate for such office to be the only candidate who had filed sworn itemised statement of his campaign expenses with such Secretary of State as required by law, he was declared the Democratic Nominee for such office. In compliance with law and the certificates of the Secretary of State, Alto Adams, candidate for State Attorney for the Twenty-first Judicial Circuit of Florida is hereby certified by this Board to be the Democratic nominee for such office. Sexton and others appeared before the Board asking that road in Special Road & Bridge Diet.No4 on Clemons Ave. from Osceola Boulvd. south to Glendale Ave., be widened to 16 feet, having 9 feet asphalt pavement and 34. ft. on each side, marl rook shoulders. It was ordered that the County will widen euch part of the road as ie out- side of the corporate limits of the City of Vero Beach provided the City will construct the additional width within the corporate limits of the City. Upon motion of Commissioner Braddock, seconded by Commiasioner Forbes, the follow- ing resolution was adopted: Be it resolved that the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, does hereby endorse and approve the location of State Road No.4 known as pro- ject 691, Line A of State Road Department survey through this County, East of the right- ofTway of the Florida East Coaat Railway and the attorney and engineer of this Board are hereby authorized and instructed to communicate with the State Road Department and under its direction secure the necessary right-of-way for said road. Upon being put to a vote, the resolution was declared adopted as follows: Yea; Commissioners, LaBruce; Braddock and Forbes. Nays: Commissioner Helaeth. It was ordered that the County Engineer be authorized to make change on the Oslo Road as provided in Bond issue of Special Road & Bridge Dist. Eo. 4 and build the same directly East to the present Dixie Highway4 The County Engineer is authorized to make grade on Oslo Road East of Dixie Highway with material secured from Oslo road West of the present Dixie Highway. Ordered that the County Engineer provide the necessary drainage in building "Quay Dock Road" in Special Road & Bridge Dist.11o.4. It was ordered that the County Engineer enter into contract with w.B.Sexton to clear Right-of-way on Clemons Ave., from the Oslo Road to South county line. It was ordered that Fire arm bond of 8. P. McCall, be rejected. the time having arrived for the opening of bids for Roller, Turntable and etc.,eame were opened, read and considered and it was ordered the County Engineer, Commissioners Forbes and Atkin, confer and decide the beat proposition and make necessary purchase, same to be paid out of the Time warrant Fund, issue of 1925. The following resolution waa unanimously adopted; Resolved that the offer Strtbhe Court House site by the Biscayne Finance Company in Brae Burn park be accepted, subject to compliance by said Company of the original offer, and the Company notified that 60 days will be given to Deposit $25,000.00 of the $50,000.00 offer and at the same time arrange proper security for the balance of $25,000. which was agreed to be donated on the construction of ,:aunty Buildings. Thace East to the South-east corner of the South-west one -darter of Section 14, Township 32 South, hangs 39 East, thence Eorth,te. the South right-of-way line of the Borth relief canal as shown on the plat of the t. 72 _. 4. Said road right-of-way to be not less than Sixty-six (66) feet in width. It was ordered that H.D.Carter, Chaa.L.Beugnot and D.L.Leisher, be appointed a committee to view,mark and lay out said road and report to this Board. It appearing that 30 days notice of the establishment of said road has been given by posting the same at the Curt House door of said County and at a public place nearest the maid road so established, and that no objection to the establishment thereof has been made by any person, firm or corporation. Be it Therefore Resolved that a public County road ds herein described be and the sume is hereby established and declared to henceforth exist. The various accounts against the County, having been audited, were examined and found correct and warrants issued in settlement of same. The various bills being on file in the Clerks office and made a part of these minutes. The County Depositories filed their monthly statements showing balance on hand in the respective funds the amounts received and cancelled warrants paid and the bal- ance on hand at the cloae of the morth, which were found to be correct, and on file in the Clerk's office. There being no further business, on motion duly made, seconded and carried the Board adjourned until Monday July 5th 1926. ATTEST: a 1
