EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT
MEETING MINUTES
The Board of Commissioners of the Emergency Services District of Indian River County,
Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission Chambers, 1801 27fl' Street, Vero
Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, October 2 , 2012 . Present were Vice Chairman Peter D . O ' Bryan,
and Commissioners Wesley S . Davis, Joseph E . Flescher, and Bob Solari . Chairman Gary C .
Wheeler was absent. Also present were County Administrator Joseph A. Baird, County Attorney
Alan S . Polackwich, Sr. , and Deputy Clerk Maureen Gelfo .
Vice Chairman O ' Bryan called the meeting to order at 9 : 57 a. m .

ON MOTION by Commissioner Flescher, SECONDED by
Commissioner Solari, by a 4-0 vote (Chairman Wheeler
absent), the Board approved the minutes of the June 19 ,
July 3 , and July 17 , 2012 meetings, as written.
15.A. 4. MEDTRONIC/PHYSIO CONTROL CARDL4C MONITOR TECHNICAL SERVICE
SUPPORT AGREEMENT
Assistant Fire Chief Brian Burkeen relayed staff' s request to continue the contract with
Medtronic/Physio Control for technical service to the cardiac monitors and associated equipment
that the Advanced Life Support (ALS) vehicles are equipped with.
Vice Chairman O ' Bryan relayed that the cardiac monitors transmit medical data while the
ambulance is enroute to the hospital, so emergency department staff can initiate treatment
quickly when the patient arrives .
ON MOTION by Commissioner Davis, SECONDED by
Vice Chairman O ' Bryan, by a 4-0 vote (Chairman Wheeler
absent), the Board approved the Technical Service Support
Agreement with Medtronic/Physio -Control, Inc . , as
recommended in the memorandum of September 6, 2012 .
AGREEMENT ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD
ALL BACKUP DOCUMENTATION, RESOLUTIONS, AND ORDINANCES ARE ON FILE IN THE OFFICE
OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD AND ARE HEREBY MADE A PART OF THESE MINUTES

There being no further business, the Vice Chairman declared the Emergency Services
District meeting adjourned at 9 : 58 a. m .
