REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATION (RE: LOCAL OPTION GAS TAX) Commissioner Davis recalled that at the November 8 , 2011 Board meeting, a citizen had voiced concerns about a potential 6 -cent increase to the Local Option Gas Tax in years four and five (2013 -2014) of the Capital Improvements Program . He declared that none of the current Board members intend to raise the gas tax, and requested a clarification on the prospective increase . County Administrator Joseph Baird declared that there would be no increase to the gas tax this or next year; however, an increase has been included as an optional planned revenue BK 141 FG 730 December 6 , 2011 29 source for transportation expenses .
