® The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Uffice of
the Clerk of the Circuit Court at Vero Beach, Indian River County, on this the 15th day.of
July, 1955, at 11:00 o'clock A. M. inlssession as Equalization Board, as provided by
law, with the following members present: Chairman W. C. Graves, Jr.; Aubrey L. ivaddell;
H. C. Watts; J. J. P. Hamilton and Allison Warren, t,lso present were George Heath. Attorney,
E. E. Carter, Road & Bridge Superintendent and Douglas Baker, Clerk,
The County Tax Assessor filed with the Clerk to the Board, and there was
presented to the Board at this meeting, the applications for the tax exemptions set out in
the Resolution next following herein, together with original notice of disapproval of said
applications with entry of service upon the respective applicants, and same were duly reviewed
by the Board together with evidence presented to the Tax Assessor upon which the respective
applicants based their claims for exemption. No applicants appeared in person or by agent.
® Thereupon Commissioner Watts introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption,

This Board, sitting as a Board of Equalization, has reviewed each of said
applications and evidence presented to the Tax Assessor upon which applicant based his claim
for exemption, and no persons having appeared for hearing on said applications or any of them,
and each of said applications and the disapproval thereof having been duly considered and
reviewed by this Board, together with such evidence; therefore;
BE IT RESOLVED, That the decision of the Tax Assessor with respect to each and
all of the above described applications be and it is herewith affirmed.
Motion for the adoption of the Resolution was seconded by Commissioner Waddell
and unanimously carried.

Upon Motion of Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Warren and
;,unanimously carried, the following Resolution was adopted:
WHEREAS, due notice by publication thereof has been given that the County
+Assessor of Taxes of Indian River County, Florida, would meet with the Board of County
;,Commissioners on the 15th day of July, 1955, and would at such time -present the tax assessment
{roll of said County for the year 1955 for equalization, as will appear by proof of publication
hof such notice recorded in the minutes; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to such notice, the County Tax Assessor did meet with the
';Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, on'the 15th day of July, 1955,
at the hour of 11:00 o'clock A. M. in the Clerk's Office in the Indian River County Courthouse,
Yero Beach, Florida, and the Board of County Commissioners has, at said time,"co.nvenedJas a
Board of Equalization for the purpose of examining said roll and of receiving complaints and
testimony with regard to the same and with regard to the value of any property, real or per-
sonal, as fixed by the County Assessor of Taxes upon such roll; and,
WHERAS, the Board of County Commissioners has received such complaints and such
testimony offered, if any, and has examined and reviewed said assessment roll and has found it
nnecessary to increase the valuation of any property shown thereon and has found such assess-

tative budget for the ensuing fiscal'year for each of the funds, as provided in Chapter 26874,
Laws of 195.1, including all estimated receipts, taxes to be levied, and balances expected to

TUESDAY. AUGUST 2. 1955
The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Courthouse
at Vero Beach, Indian River County, in a regular meeting at 9:00 o'clock A. M., Tuesday,
August 2, 1955, with the following members present: Commissioners W. C. Graves, Jr., Chairman#
J. J. P. Hamilton, ;i. G Watts, Aubrey Waddell and Allison ;Darren. Also present were E. E.
Carter, Road & Bridge Superintendent and Attorney George Heath.
Minutes of July 5thregular meeting, were read and the same approved upon
Motion of Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner !Laddell and carried.

Minutes of July 15t'h,'equalization meeting, were read and the same approved
upon Motion of Commissioner Wutts`,?seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and,carried.
A petition signed by Claud Gregg and other landowners was received requesting
the county to repair and repave Tenth Avenue East from U. S. 81 to the Lane Road and the Lane
1ioad South to U. S. 91. The petition had 24 signers. The Board instructed E. E. Carter,
Road G Bridge Superintendent to repair same as soon as possible.
A delegation from Roseland appeared before the Board requesting the paving "
of the Roseland - Fellsmere Road running !lest from Roseland. The Chairman explained.to the
delegation that money was not available for the paving of the road in question but stated that
the County would remarl and rework the present grade.
Upon Motion of Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Warren, and
carried, the Board accepted the proposal as set forth in the letter from Florida East Coast
Railroad dated July 139 1955 for the final settlement of property acquired from the Railroad
by the County to widen U. S. 91.
County Road G Bridge Superintendent, E. E. Carter, was instructed to investigate
and report back to the Board on the drainage situation of the Knight and Taylor problem just
North of McKee Jungle Gardens.
A copy of the advertising containing the estimates of Budget made by the
Burd of County Commissioners at a meeting held at the Courthouse on the 15th day of July,
1955, with the Publisher's.affidavit annexed and presented to the Board and ordered spread
upon the minutes and is in words and figures as follows, to -wit:
