On motion made, seconded and carried the board then adjourned until the regular

The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at
the Court House in Vero Beach, on Tuesday, October 4th 1927, with the following members
of the Board present: John H.Atkin,. Chaimnan; Geo.A.Braddock; J.T.LaBruce; J.J.P.Hemil-
ton and 0 O.Helseth. Also present were Miles tWarren, Cle* and J.W.Knightg Sheriff.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The Deputy Sheriff bond of Theodore Miller in the sum of 01,000.00 with David Rosa
and Albert Schuman as sureties was approved.
The Notary Public bond of Glenn C. Snodgrass, in the sum of $500.00 with the Amer -
icon :Surety Company of New York, a corporation, as surety was approved.
Mothers Pension application of Nellie Boatright of Winter Beach was approved and
warrant ordered issued in the sum. of $30: 00 each month.
The Mothers Pension application of Louie Wood of Winter Beach *as approved and
warrant ordered issued each month in the sum of $25.00.
It was ordered that the proposal of Mattmuller and Kutz to move the cottage of

Mrs Nancy- H. Wei.11s f rom the right-of-way of State Road No. 4, for the sum .of $200.00
be accepted, and ordered they be instructed to do this work.
BRIDGE TO JOHNS I ;LAND.
BE IT IB90LVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County,Flo
that said Board hereby authorized the construction of abridge across the Indian Diver
John's Island about three miles South-east of Winter Beach, Florida, and eleven and one
half miles South of the Sebastian Inlet, which bridge shall be constructed in accord-
ance with plans entitled "Proposed Bridge across Indian River at John's Island,Indian
Riven County, Florida", said plans being in two (2) sheets dated October 10th and
prepared by D.L.LeisheP, County Engineer, and-

BE IT IURTHER R;',JLVED, that said D.L.Leisher, County Engineer be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to sign and make application to the War Department in behalf of
the Board of County Commissioners for approval of the construction of a bridge at the
above mentioned location, and in accordance with the above mentioned plans.

September 1927, with instructions to view and mark out the best route for a public road,
described in the petition as follows, to -wit: Commencing at the intersection of the
Section line between :sections Thirty (30) and Thirty-one (31) Township. Thirty-three
(33) 'South, Range Forty (40) East, with the present Dixie Highway (old road) thence
along said 'Section line between Sections Thirty (3{) and Thirty-one (31) Township
Thirty-three (33) South, Range Forty (40) East, in an easterly direction to the point
of intersection with the new State road now under construction. The distance being
about Five hundred feet (500), beg leave to report to your honors as follows: That we,
after first having subscribed to the oath required by law before entering on our duties
make this our general report:
That we proceeded to the said proposed location of the said public road upon
the 27th day of September 1927, and viewed and marked out the following as the best
route for said proposed road. (Said road is to be Fifty (50) feet wide.
Beginning at the intersection of the* Section line between 'Sections Thirty
(30) and Thirty-one (31) Tomehip Thirty-three (33) South, Range Forty (40) East, and
the Dixie Highway. Thence East along said Section line to its intersection with the
East right-of-way line of State Road No. Four (4) Project 691.
Therefore, having performed the duties required by law under the appointment of
your honors, we pray to be discharged.

to .South quay Road; 2* miles more or less. Said road to be 50 ft. wide; 25 fte on each
side of Section line, beg leave to report to your honors as follows: That we, after
first having subscribed to the oath required by law before entering on our duties make
this our general. reports That we proceeded to the said proposed location of the said
Public road upon the 24th day of September 19279 and viewed and marked out the following
as the best route for said proposed road. (Said road is to be Fifty (50) feet wide)
Commencing at the South -gest corner of . Section 22 Township 32 South, Range
39 East, thence north along the section line to the South-east corner of the North-east
quarter of Section Nine (9) Township 32 :South, Range 39 East.
The refore # having p erformed the duties required by law under the appointment of
your honors, we pray to be discharged.

The Tax to .Assessor having completed the tax roll f or the year 1927, and
having extended out the various taxes to be collected for the State, County and various
special taxing Districts throughout the County, and tame having axomdr been carefully
examined, was accepted by the Board. The Assessor ,of Taxes then annexed his warrant
to the Tax Collector on each of said tax rolls so prepared and accepted, which said
warrant of collection is in the words and figures following:

Tax Collector of the County of Indian River County, Florida,
You are hereby commanded to collect out of the real and personal property,. and
from each* of the persons and corporations named in the annexed roll, the taxes set
down in each roll opposite each name, corporation or parcel of lam therein described,
and in case taxes so imposed are not paid, at the time prescribed by law, you are to
collect the same by levy and sale of the goods and chattels, lands and tenements so
assessed, or of the person or corporation so taxed; and all sums oDllected for the
State taxes you are to pay to the 1.%Ute Treasurer at such time as may be required by
law, and at the some time you are to pay to the legally qualified depository all sums
collected for County taxes, district school taxes and other special taxes; and you
are further required to make all collections on or before the first monday in April;
and on or before the first Monday in July you will mare a final report to and settle-
ment with the Comptroller and County Commissioners.
