HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-285 AMENDMENT TO EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS { AND JOSEPH A. BAIRD, COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR THIS AMENDMENT ("Amendment") made and entered into this 23rd day of August 2005 , and bearing an effective date of March 23 , 2005 , by and between the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, a political subdivision of the State of Florida ("County") and Joseph A. Baird, Indian River County Administrator ("Administrator") , modifies the Employment Agreement ("Agreement") between the above referenced parties dated March 23 , 2005 . BACKGROUND RECITALS A. On March 23 , 2005 , the County and the Administrator entered into the Agreement . B . On July 12 , 2005 , the Board of County Commissioners authorized review of the Agreement. C . The County and the Administrator now desire to amend certain provisions of the Agreement . NOW THEREFORE , in consideration of the mutual covenants and promises contained herein, the parties agree to amend the Agreement as follows : 1 . The first sentence of SECTION 4 ANNUAL COMPENSATION is amended to change the annual salary to one hundred fifty seven thousand and three hundred dollars ($ 157 , 300 . 00), payable in bi -weekly installments of six thousand and fifty dollars ($ 6 , 050 . 00) , as adjusted for necessary deductions . 2 . The second sentence of SECTION 4 ANNUAL COMPENSATION is amended to change the monthly car allowance to an amount equal to other designated County employees authorized to receive a monthly car allowance . 3 . The following language is added to SECTION 5 ADDITIONAL BENEFITS : County agrees to make annual contributions into a County approved deferred compensation program , throughout the term of employment, equal to the maximum annual contribution allowable by law . County shall pay for all dependent health insurance coverage . The following language is added to SECTION 9 SEVERANCE : The Administrator may elect to receive the severance payment in lump sum or bi-weekly installments . The County will continue to make the applicable contribution to the Administrator' s FRS Account during the installment period if so elected by Administrator. 5 . Additional compensation granted to the Administrator pursuant to this Amendment shall be retroactively applied to March 23 , 2005 . 6 . All terms and conditions of Agreement not amended herein shall remain in full force and effect for the remainder of the term of the Agreement .
