You are directed to make the following changes in the Contract Documents :
1 . Description : Increase the unit price contract amount for Bid Item No. 13 . 01 4 ' high
chain link fence) by a total amount of $4.09 per lineal foot for a total unit price of $ 19 . 09
per lineal foot. Bids were received on June 2 , 2004 , but the construction contr4c ct was
not awarded until December 8 , 2004 and costs escalated significantly during th it time.
The project was delayed because the deletion of the north stormwater pond required a
new SJRWMD permit, which was not issued until December 7 , 2004. The unit price
increase represents the escalation of material cost since the project bid date , b t it
does not include any increase in labor costs.
2. Description : Increase the unit price contract amount for Bid Item No . 13 .02 12' wide
— 4' high gates) by $ 184 .93 per gate for a total unit price of $ 1047 . 93 per gate. Bids
were received on June 2 , 2004 , but the construction contract was not awarded until
December 8, 2004. The project was delayed because the deletion of the north
stormwater pond required a new SJRWMD permit, which was not issued until
December 7 , 2004 . The cost increase represents the escalation of material since the
project bid date , but it does not include any increase in labor costs.
INCREASE in Contract Price = 3 gates ' _ $ 184 . 93 increase per gate = $554 , 79
3. Description : Decrease the amount of fence installed by 700 feet. Rather than run
the entire length of the easterly property line , the fence will tie into a fence already
installed along that boundary line by The Horne Depot.
DECREASE in Contract Price:
(a) Fence cost with new unit price amount = 1820 LF ` $ 19 .09/LF = $34, 7 3. 80
(b) Deduct 700 LF of fence = 700 LF * $19 . 09 = ($ 13 ,363, 00)
Revised fence cost = $34 , 743 .80 • $ 13 ,363 . 00 = $21 ,380 .80
Fence cost per original Contract = $27 ,300 . 00
Therefore , DECREASE in original Contract Amount for fence = $271300 -
$21 ,380. 80 $5 ,919 .20
SUMMARY OF CONTRACT DECREASE :
(a) Increase in original Contract Amount for gates = $554 . 79
(b) Decrease in original Contract Amount for fence = $5 , 919. 20
(c) Net DECREASE in original Contract Amount = $5 , 919 .20 - $554. 79 = $ , 364.41 .
