Add additional sixty seven (67) days to cannot contract time in order to complete necessary work lot substantial
completion as per attached letter from Chillberg Construction Company dated July 19, 2006. $ 0.00
The original (Contract Sum) was

The net change by previously authorized Change Orders $ 141 ,297.80
The (Contract Sum) prior to this Change Order was $ 3,257,602.80

Dear Lynn:
Pursuant to Article 8 . 3 of the A201 Contract I would like to request a change order to the
contract extending the contract time to September 28th. 2006 . The request of time extension is
driven by the Electrical service installation by FPL and a previous change (Change order #3 ) to
the contract for the "vanilla box" build out.
F. P . L was contacted in November of 2005 to start engineering on the site and was in full
knowledge of our completion date of our project. In March 2006, they requested an easement
for the property. This request was forwarded to you on or about March 23 , 2006 we should
have been notified early on in the project not 5 months later. My understanding is that they will
not start getting power to the site until the first week in August, which will delay the project 4-5
weeks . This delay will hold up the installation of the final interior finishes, such as ceiling tile,
flooring and interior doors.
The building permit still has not been released from the Fire Dept as of July 18, 2006 . The time
extension requested on the Vanilla Box change order was based on the permit release as of June
8Th. 2006 . This delay has prevented us from proceeding on plumbing, electrical and HVAC,
which are required prior to interior finish installation.
Based on these specific issues I feel Chilberg Construction should be granted the extension. The
electrical installation is the critical path item that is delaying the original contract work. No
general conditions are being requested.
