The Bowl
of County Comissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met
at the Court House in Vero Beach, on Tuesday May lst 19289 with the following members
of the Board presents Geo. A. Braddock; J. W. leBruce; J. J. P. Hamilton; 0. 0. Hel-
p eth, and John H. Atkin, Chairman. Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk and
J. V. Knight Sheriff.
The, minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr John Co rsa appeared bef ore the Board respecting road near the Storm Grove,
and after _consideration, it was ordered that the road be marled for approximately
one half mile.
It was ordered that road on section line from North Gifford road north on
section line be cleared and graded, approximately 3/8 mile.
w_ .. qtr. J. Iv. Stinson appeared before the Board regarding road from Fellsmere road to
Lateral "AQ road, being an extension of Lateral "A" road. It was ordered that this
road be put in condition.
It was ordered that road known. on Engineer's records as Road B-6 west of Lateral
"B" be graded and marled.
Mr. and 1rs Goodrich of Roseland appeared before the Board regarding road from
Roseland to connect with Vellsmere road. It was ordered that this matter be taken
under consideratio#.

That we proceeded to the said proposed location of the said public road upon the
24th day of April 19289 and viewed and marked out the following as the best route for
said proposed road. (Said road is to be Sixty (6 0) -feet wide)
Commencing at the intersection of the West right -of -wait line of State
road number Four, and the East and West center line, Section Fifteen (15) Township
Thirty-tvu (32) South, Range Thirty-nine (39) East; thence West 6o the South-west
corner of the North-west one-quarter, Section Sixteen (16) Township Thirty0two (32)
South, Range Thirty-nine (39) East. Excepting, however, such portions of this right-
of-way as are included in the ditch and canal right of ways of the Indian River Fawns
Drainage District.
Therefore, having performed the duties required by law under the appointment of
your honors, we pray to be discharged.

Commencing at the intersection of the East Right of Nay Dine of State Road
Number Four, and the aortia Line of the South East one quarter, Section Thirty-
three (33)9 ,;Township Thirty-one (31) South, Range Thirty-nine (39) East.
Thence East -to the North East Corner of the South East one quarter, said section
township, and range.
The above described line being the center line of said road.
Therefore, having performed the duteis required by law under the appointment of
your honors, we pray to be discharged.

It was ordered that notice be given and that after the expiration of 30 days, if
no p rote st is f sled, the same will be declared a public County road.
The Notary Public bond of Miss Nellie M. Babb, in the sum of $500.00 wit#
The American `Surety Company, a corporation, of New York, as surety was approved.
E. ¢ G. Thatcher and W . L. Sexton appeared before the Board respecting the inter-
national
national Exhibition or fair to be held at Toronto, Canada, in August, and requesting
donation from the Publicity fund of $350.00 to carry on publicity work at that point,
and after consideration, it was ordered that the sum of $350.00 be appropriated out
of the publicity Fund for advertisement purposes at the Toronto Exhibition, and that the
Chairman of the Board attend the fair or exhibition at Toronto at the expense of the
County, such expense to be paid from the Pub li ei ty Fund.
A letter was read by the Clerk from Frank C. Sehoenthaler requesting repair of
South Gifford road Fest of King's Highway. It was ordered that this road be repaired.
The following persom were appointed by the Board of' County Commissioners as

It was moved, seconded and carried that the County Engineer be authorized to
rent :Speeder Machine to Indian River Fars Drainage District at a rental to be arrived
at by the Engineer. Said machine to always be subject to- the County's demand.
The Board then adjourned until Saturday, May 19th, 1928.

The Board of County Commissioners in aryl for Indian River County, Florida, met at
the Court House in Vero Beach, at 2 o'clock P .M. Saturday, May 19th, 19289 .with the
following members
of the
Board present:
John H. Atkin, Chairman; Geo. A. Braddock;

and J.
V. LaBruce and
O.O.Helseth. Also present was Miles Marren,
Clerk.
J. W. Knight
a candidate for Sheriff
appeared before
the Board and requested that
he be permitted to
withdrew from the race
for Sheriff, and
requested that his name be
stricken from the list of names to be printed on the Ballot. It .was moved,
seconded and, carried that the request be granted, and that such candidate's name be
omitted f rom the official ballot to b e printed and that the assessment of $7.5.00 paid
into the Clerk by such candidate be refunded to Mr. Knight.
The following names having been certified by the Secretary of State to this Board
as candidates for the State offices set opposite their respective names, same were
ordered placed on the official Primary Election ballot of the Democratic Party for the
primary election to be held Tuesday, June 5th 19289 to -wit:-
