D . B . G . #01DB-79-04-20-01 - H03 Dear Ms . Boyette ; Please consider this a request for a six (6 ) month time extension on the above reference Community Development Block Grant project. This will extend the contract from July 28 , 2005 to Ja uary 28 , 2006 . Due to circumstances arising from hurricanes Frances and Jeanne , Indian River County has had great difficulty in procuring contractors willing to bid on CDBG program construction pro ects . Since the hurricanes , qualified contractors have been in high demand , many indicating that they are still extremely busy with hurricane repairs from last year and are now busy with requests from local residents to retrofit their homes with hurricane protection materials as this year' s hurricane season approaches . Attached to this work plan modification request is a short synopsis of the accomplishmer is to date and the anticipated number of homes to be completed by the proposed modified deadline date . It is the County' s position that this additional six (6 ) month time extension request is justified because the conditions surrounding the recent delays were due to events that were beyond the County' s co trot and that the County has been doing everything within its means to have construction on all the homes completed by the current grant end date . The County appreciates the Department' s consideration of this six (6 ) month time extenion and the Department' s efforts to support the County' s endeavors to complete this project. WHEREAS , the Department and the Recipient entered into the Agreement, pursuant to which the Department provided a subgrant of $ 750 , 000 . 00 to Recipient under the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (" CDBG " ) Program as set forth in the Agreement; and WHEREAS , the Recipient has requested an extension to the period of the Agreement; and WHEREAS , the Department and the Recipient desire to modify the Agreement by modifying Attachment B , Activity Work Plan section thereunder. NOW, THEREFORE , in consideration of the mutual promises of the partie contained herein , the parties agree as follows : 1 . Paragraph 3 of the Agreement is hereby revised to reflect an expiration date for the Agreement of January 28 , 2006 . 2 . The Attachment B , Activity Work Plan section of the Agreement is hereby deleted and is replaced by the revised Attachment B , Activity Work Plan , which is attach d hereto and incorporated herein by reference . 3 . All provisions of the Agreement and any attachments thereto in conflict with this Modification shall be and are hereby changed to conform to this Modification , effective as of the date of the last execution of this Modification by both parties . 4 . All provisions not in conflict with this Modification remain in full force and effect, and are to be performed at the level specified in the Agreement.
