The following members of the Board were present: John H. Atkins Chairman; J.W.TaBruoe
Ub r and Geo. A, Braddock,
The Chairman announced the purpose of the called meeting was to x1i consider
the 'Sheriff's bond submitted by John H. Sutherland, who had been appointed Sheriff
of Indian River County, Florida.
The Sheriff bond of John H. Sutherland, in the stun of $2,000.00 with 1m.Atkin
and C. R. McClure, as sureties was approved.
There being no further business, on motion made, seconded and carried the Board
adjourned until the next regular meeting, unless sooner called together by the
Cha i rman.

SPECIAT, MEETING. TUESDAY, MAY 29th 1928.
The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met
at the Court House in Vero Beaoh, on Tuesday, May 29th 1928 at 2 o'clock P.M.
The following members of the Board were present: John H. Atkin, Chairman; 1. T. U-
D�r,e;=
Bruce; J. J. P. Hamilton/and Geo A. Braddock.
The Chairman announced that the `Special meeting was called for the purposemof
considering and devising some method whereby all the qualified electors in voting
precinct No. 6 :South Vero Beach can be accorded the privilege of voting in ,the primary
election to be held Tuesday, June 5th 1928.
The following resolution was offered by Commissioner LaBruce:
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that in election Precinct No. 69 South
Vero Beach, there are approximately 796 qualified voters within said election District,
and that it will be impossible for three Inspectors ar. one Clerk of election to
handle such a large number of voters in one district between the regular voting hours
at the election to be held Tuesday, June 5th 19280 and.
AREAS the Board of County Commissioners find and determine that it will
be impossible, impracticable and prohibitive to expect that each and every qualified
voter can and, will have sufficient time to cast his or her Ballot with the only three
Inspectors and One Clerk heretofore appointed to serve by this Board,
THEREFORE, be it resolved that Three additional. Inspectors and one addi-
tional Cle3k be appointed in Election Precinct No. 6, `:South Vero Beach, at the election
to be held on the date above mentioned.
The resolution being put to a vote was unanimously addpted.
Ag re eable with and in c onf o rmi.ty to the above resolution the Board then named the
following as additional Inspectors and additional Clerk for such election Precinct
to -wit: H. W. Lemkuhl; Cecil R. ,Arnold; H. J. Kuppers, Inspectors and E.P.Poole,Clerk.
It was further ordered that a copy of this resolution, together with the naming
of the Inspectors and Cleric be published in the Vero Beach Press -Journal.
There being no further business the Board adjourned until the regular meeting
