MmurBoardvefrMunty Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at the Court House in Hero Beech, on Tuesday, June 5th 1928 at 10 o'clock A.M.with the following members of the Board present: John H. Atkin, Chairman; J.w. rude; J.J.P. Hamilton and O.O.Helseth. Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk and J.H.Satherland, Sheriff., The Minutes of the meetings held in May 1928 were read and. approved. The Notary Public bond of Will T. Holtzclaw, in the sum of $500.00 with The American Da rety Company, a corporation, of New York as surety was approved. The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were examined and approved and warrants ordered issued in settlement of same. The several County depositories having filed their monthly reports showing receipts and disbursements for the month of May and some having been checked were found to be correct. The Board then adjourned until Mondays June 11th, 1928 at 10 o'clock A. I. a i r m a n. ATTEST e r k. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - XONDAY, JUNE 11th„192$, The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at the Court House in Vero Beach, on Mondays June 11th, 1928 at 10 o' o lock, A .M. in adjourned meeting with the following members of the Board present: J. V. LaBruce; J.J.P.Hamilton; Geo. A. Braddock and 0. 0. Helseth. Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk and J.H.Sutherland, ;Mieriffe The Chairman being absent from this meeting on motion duly„ made, seconded and unanimously carried the Board designated J. W. LaBruee, as Chairman pro -tem. P. F. Jarvis appeared before the Board regarding Bridge to John's Island and the same having been considered, it was ordered that the County Engineer prepare adverise- ment for the project for the Board to receive sealed bits not later than June 29th 19289 and the Board meet on said date to consider such bids and proposals as may then be on file. Miss Leila Bunkley appeared before the Board respecting the condition ofmIrs. Harris Jones, and fwaily, and after consideration, it was ordered that the bills and expense incurred in rendering aid and assistance to this family be paid by the County out of the General Revenue Fund. The Board, in compliance with law, examined the registration books of the County and finding that no revision of the same is necessary at this time, the books with the names of persons registered were ordered approved. The following Road petition was reoeived, read and filed: ROAD PETITI(3N. 'TATE ,OF FLORIDA ) : COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER) TO THE HOMRABLE BOARD OF COUNT' COMMISSIONERS OF SAID COUNTY: Gentlemen: - 'We, the undersigned, citizens of the County of Indian River, State of Florida, respectfully represent that the necessities of the public require a County Road to be 'p X64 laid out as follows, to -wit: Commencing at the Interseetion.of the East right-of-way line of the Dixie Highway in `Section Thirty-one (31) Township Thirty-three (33) :South, Range Forty (4) East, and the Borth line of the South-West one quarter of the South -East one quarter Section Thirty-one_ (31) Towship Thirty-three (33) 'South* Range Forty (40) East. Thence East to the intersection of said line with the 'fest right-of-way line of 'State Road No, Four, Project 691. The above described line being the center line. Said road right-of-way to be not less than Fifty (50) feet in width. We the refo re petition your honorable body to cause to be laid out and opened a y , _. _ ... _. e above described, and we, the overs of the land through rich t Count Road as:.... _ _ .. _ ... said road is sought to be laid out, in consideration of the sum of One dollar to us each and severally in hand paid by the said County of Indian Rivers the receipt of which is hezeby acknowledged, hereV agree to give the right-of-way through our lands, as shown by the plat accompanying this petition, and relinquish all claims for damage by reason thereof. it was ordered that Edwin A. Helseth; Perry I. Helseth and D.L.1aisherg be appointed a Committee to view, mark and lay out said road and report to this Board. It was ordered that $54.50 expensed by Geo. T. Tippin in connection with the County Fair be reimbursed to him from the Publicity Fund. I. J. Graham, appeared before the Board respecting conditions of roads leading to the Bush grove west of Oslo. It was ordered that the Clerk write the Indian Rive Farms Drainage Di strict and request that bridge be erected across new canal on East side of Clemens Ave at Road B-8. It gas moved by Commissioner J.J.P.Aamilton and seconded by Geo. A. Braddock, that all matters of employment of Bridge Tenders, and such other necessary things, at the Quay and Vero Bridges be left with the County Engineer with full power to employ and di s charge any person. it was ordered that the Clerk write the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioner ! of Brevard County respecting the material in the old Sebastian River Bridge, it being the desire of this Board to use such materials as possible on other w0A for its part of the bridge material. Ordered that the road known as "Baptist Church and Paul Luther Road" be cleared and graded as soon as the County Engineer can get to this work. It was ordered that the Clerk instruct the Tax Collector to distibute balance of 1926 taxes collected in the Depositories for the several funds. Applications having been received from the Indian River County Bank, ae'bastian, Vero Beach _..Bank . Trust Company; and the Fazmers Bank of Vero Beach, same were duly considered. It was ordered that the following designations be made for the ensuing year: I]WIAN RIIER COUNTY'BAiX-, _ .A.ST Fine -& Forfeiture Fund it of Road & Bridge Fund Agricultural. Fund Spec. R&B Dist No.1 ( Interest & Sinking) It vas ordered that Depository bond in the sum of $7,500.00 be furnished by such Depository with the Comptroller. FAMMRS BANK OF 7ERO BEACH. 1/3 of Road & Bridge Fund . 1/2 of General Interest & Sinking Fund. It was ordered that Depository bond in the sum of $ 10'004.00 be Furnished by such Depository with the Comptroller. VERO BEACH BANK '& TRUST CO* VERO BEAt3H. R & B Dist #4 (Interest & Sinking Fund) It was ordered that Depository bond in the sum of $20,000.00 be furnished by such Depository with the Comptroller, ✓ There being no further business on motion made, seconded and aarried the Board adjourned until June 29th 1928.
