The service area is a low income , older residential area without a Fire / EMS Station . The new Fire/ EMS Station will provide for a much more rapid response time to local emergencies and fires in this LMI community . A new fire station has been designed for this project . The $ 750 , 000 in CDBG funds will pay a portion of the cost for the new Fire /EMS Station . The full cost is expected to be about $ 2 , 200 , 000 . The Project will be on vacant , undeveloped land in a residential neighborhood . The project is not within the floodplain . Local revenues of $ 250 , 000 revenues have been pledged as a match for the CDBG . The balance of funds needed will came from local revenues . Estimated Cost: $21200,000 It has been determined that such request for removal of environmental conditions will not constitute an action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment; accordingly the above-named recipient has decided not to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (PL 91- 190). The Reasons for such decision not to prepare such Statement are as follows : An environmental assessment was performed which verified that the only impacts to the environment would be minimal and beneficial . An Environmental Review Record respecting the above project has been made by the above- named recipient that documents the environmental review of the project and more fully sets forth the reasons why such Statement is not required.
