The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County,
met at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida, in a special meeting held
at 8:00 o'clock, A. M., Wednesday, February 14, 1962. All members were
present. Also present were Ed Schmucker, County Engineer, John Gould, K
County Attorney, Charles Herring, AlA Right -of -Way Attorney, and Freda
Wright, Deputy Clerk.
The Chairman announced that this meeting was called for the
purpose of determining the Boards views on getting the Sebastian Inlet
Bridge on the secondary road plan immediately.
After considerable discussion Motion was made by Commissioner
Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, and unanimously carried,
that the Chairman be authorized to inform the Chairman of the Brevard
County Board of County Commissioners of this proposition, that we feel
if they will furnish $200,000.00 towards the construction of the bridge,
we will pay the rest of the costs out of our secondary road fund.
Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by
Commissioner McCullers, and unanimously carried, that the Chairman be
authorized to commit the County to build the bridge.
There being no further business, on motion made, seconded
and carried the Board then adjourned.
