DESCRIPTION OF WORK or CHANGE ORDER REQUIREMENTS:_The District and County entered
into an agreement to assist 16 citrus growers in implementing best management practices primarily installation
of flashboard riser structures to reduce sediment and nutrient loadings to the Indian River Lagoon. The Coun

has requested a two-month extension to complete installation of five flashboard riser structures at three project
sites.
CAUSE OF DELAY and JUSTIFICATION FOR EXTENSION: One of the growers was in the process of
acquiring permits and procuring the materials when an offer for purchase of their property was received and the
installation process was stopped. The purchase offer fell through and the owners decided to proceed with plans
to install the structures. The other two remaining rowers are also finalizing permit requirements and Drocuring
the materials and will have their roiects completed by the end of Janua . All of the remaining thirteen
growers have successfully completed their projects and have been reimbursed by the Coun1y as per the contract
REVISED TIMEFRAME FOR COMPLETION OF WORK: Extend the contract completion date from
December 19,2002 to February 28 2003 (impact on schedule: 71 days)
