Rosemary Richey, Supervisor of Registration, appeared before the Board and requested authorization.to purchatse an adding machine. Motion was made by CommissLoner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and unami= mously carried, that the request be granted. EarlSmith appeared before the Board and presented an application for a pistol permit. After considerable discussion, Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald,'seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried,.that upon the recommendations of the Sheriff the pistol permit is approved; and the Clerk authorized to issue license for .22 pistol. Charles Herring, AlA right of way Attorney, reported that they were down to the last 350 feet in the acquisition of the AlA right of way and felt the balance would have to'be condemned. After some discussion, Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and unanimously carried, that Dr. Guerin be paid $500.00 for AIA right of way. Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and unanimously carried, that Attorney Charles Herring be authorized to file condemnation on all parcels Qn AlA that we have been unable to settle. The County Attorney reported on the progress made thus far in the acquisition of right of way for Roseland Road. After considerable discussion, Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner McCullers, that the following action be taken; 1. It was authorized to pay Mr. and Mrs. Mesec $1,250.00 for Parcel 114.1, being $1,054.00 from'Secondary Funds and $196.00 from the Road and Bridge Fund. 2. It was authorized to pay Mr. Rankin $481.69 for Parcels 125.1 and 155.1, being $135.00 from Secondary Funds and $346.69 from the Road and Bridge Fund. 3. it was authorized to pay Mr. Warner $300.00 for Parcel 138.1, being $50.00 from Secondary Funds and $250.00 from the Road and Bridge Fund. BOOK 8 ?AGE 8i BGQK S PAGE 82 4. It was authorized to pay Mr. and Mrs. Elkins up to $300.00 for Parcel 154.1, the $300.00 being from the Road and Bridge Fund. 5. It was authorized to pay Mr. and Mrs. Holtzclaw $100.00 for Parcel 157.1, being $50.00 from Secondary Funds and $50.00 from the Road and Bridge Fund. As further consideration, it was authorized to perform the work of cutting down ten trees for the Grantors, but not, however, to remove the roots from the ground nor to haul the felled trees from the premises. 6. It was authorized to pay Mrs. Spyrison $630.00 for Parcel 159.1„ being from Secondary Funds. 7. The offer of Mr. and Mrs. Mockridge of $2,600.00 was rejected, and it was authorized to counter-offer $2,346.00 for Parcel 156.1, being $1,996.00 from Secondary Funds and $350.00 from the Road and Bridge Fund. 8. The offer of Mr. and Mrs. Weifenbach of $1,297.00 was rejected, and it was authorized to counter-offer $805.00 for parcel 158.1, being $655.00 from Secondary Funds and $150.00 from the Road and Bridge Fund.' Ed Schmucker, County Engineer, reported that he had checked the right of way for a'street in Gifford that would run along the West side of of the railway track and that he had found it to be high and dry. After some discussion, the Chairman suggested that he check to see if he could get the right of way before taking any further action. The County Engineer reported that Mr. Lowenstein had appeared before the Zoning Board and requested a zoning change on Oslo road and the following change was approved by them Re -zone 330 feet either side of centerline of Oslo road from a point 660 feet East of the centerline of U. S. Highway No. l'East to the Indian River from R1A Residential to C1A Restricted Commercial. Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commission- er Waddell and.unanimously carried, that the recommendations 9f the .Zoning Board was tentatively approved. It was'authorized'by the Board that the Courthouse be'closed, Monday,` December 24 for Christmas. Motion was made by Commissioner. Waddell, seconded by Commissioner, Macdonald and unanimbusly carried, that the following Resolution be adopted. -- -------- ------
