Mr. Needham.of Moreland Estates Subdivision was recognized by the Chair and stated that he had come to the Board to complain•about the serious condition of St>uth Twentieth Avenue. The County Engineer advised him that it was already in,his plans for improvement within the next two years. The Chairman made a statement to the gress that.he had been advised by the State Road -Department that they expect to let the contract for AlA in March if everything goes as planned. A letter from the Taxpayers Association of Indian River County was presented to the Board requesting information as to meeting dates of the Commissioners and the agenda. The Secretary was requested to reply. A complaint with regard to Andy's Sanitation Service was received and after some discussion, the County Engineer was requested to check into the situation. request from General Sterling Wood to advertise for public sale of surplus equipment of Civil Defense was received and the same was granted, the sale to be advertised for February 6, 1963. The County Z"ttorney stated that the Federal Court suit against the County had been dismissed and the County was no longer involved. Sam Joyce, Sheriff, appeared before the Board and stated that he had been requested to ask the Board to set a speed limit on Bay street in Rose- land. after some discussion, Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner McCullers•and unanimously carried, that the speed limit be set At 35 miles per hour on Bay Street from U. S. 1 to the railroad. The County, engineer stated that Ed Carter had offered to give right- of-way from his property for the, 'West lvabasso road which would, eliminate, the utilities problem and save the county considerable money. The Chairman read a notice inviting bids on lawn care of the Court- house. There being no bids received, the County Engineer was requested to see if one of the employees of the Road and Bridge Department would be in- terested in the extra work. On Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unaminously carried, Notary Public Bond for Mabel 0. Mumm was approved. 0 Ji c Commissioner Macdonald stated that he had requests from some com- mercial fishermen to have the Oyster Act amended to enable them to go into the commercial oyster business. After some discussion the County tittorney: was requested to prepare the amendment to this act and also to check the State Regulations with regard to oysters. Rosemary Richey, Supervisor of Registration appeared before the Board and requested authorization to attend a meeting in 'Tallahassee on January 24, 25 and 26, 1963. Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried, that the request be granted. Motion was made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and unanimously carried, that the Commissioners, the County Attorney, and the County Engineer, are authorized to attend Commissioner's School in Tallahassee on January 21 and 22, 1963. Upon Motion made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously carried, Deputy Sheriff's bond for Homer C. i'.mnons was approved.
