KING'S HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS
(OSLO ROAD TO 26TH STREET)
AMENDMENT NO. 17 TO THE PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING/LAND SURVEYING
SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN KIMLEY-HORN AND ASSOCIATES, INC. AND
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA.
This is an amendment to the existing Engineering/Land Surveying Services Agreement
(AGREEMENT) dated November 1, 1994, between Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.
(ENGINEER) and Indian River County (COUNTY). This amendment addresses changes in
"Section I - Project Limits and Description", "Section III - Scope of Services", and "Section V -
Compensation" of the AGREEMENT.
Amendment Description
This Amendment includes the following:
"Section I — PROJECT LIMITS AND DESCRIPTION" is being modified to incorporate the
following:
The COUNTY would like to permit and construct, approximately 1300 linear feet of 12"
water main from the Kings Highway corridor to tie into the existing terminus of an 12"
water main on east leg of 41h Street. The water main extension will go beyond the current
limits of the 4h Street roadway improvements on the east leg and will require a partial
reconstruction of the roadway for approximately 800 linear feet. This utility extension
will require permitting through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection
(FDEP).
"SECTION III—SCOPE OF SERVICES" is being modified to incorporate the following:
Task 1 —Utility Design
The Consultant will develop construction documents to detail the construction of the
1300 linear foot water main extension and roadway reconstruction. The utility
improvement will require the addition or modification of the following Kings Highway
construction plan sheets:
• Two utility plan sheets
• One roadway cross section sheet

The additional utility construction quantities will be determined, such that it may be
incorporated into the Kings Highway utility improvements.
Task 2—Permitting
The Consultant will prepare and submit documentation to request a FDEP public drinking
water permit. The Consultant will coordinate with the FDEP in regards to obtaining this
permit. The County will be responsible for all permit application and agency review fees.
Task 3 —Utility Certification
The Consultant will review the pressure test, bacteriological analyses and construction as-
built information. Upon completion of the review, the Consultant will assemble and
submit the Certification of Construction Completion to FDEP and request service
clearance for the newly constructed utilities.
"SECTION V—COMPENSATION" is being modified to incorporate the following:
The COUNTY agrees to pay and the ENGINEER agrees to accept for services rendered
pursuant to this Agreement additional fees inclusive of expenses in accordance with the
following:
A. Professional Services Fee
The basic compensation mutually agreed upon by the ENGINEER and the
COUNTY is as follows:
Task Labor Fee
Utility Design $4,800
Permitting $1,800
Utility Certification $800
This Amendment No. 17 to the AGREEMENT regardless of where executed, shall be governed
by and construed by the laws of the State of Florida.
