Engineering Services Proposal for Miscellaneous Items at South
RO Plant .
Dear Aaron :
Kimley-Horn and Associates , Inc . ( "KHA " ) is pleased to submit this Work
Authorization request for providing engineering services related to the
HYDAC sand filter installation and minor site plan modification for the
South R . O . WTP Clearwell Addition and Pipe Replacement project . Our
project scope of services , schedule , and fee are below .
Task I — HYDAC Sand Filter Installation
Design and implementation of certain peripherals to the HYDAC unit was
requested from staff including drain piping alignment to on -site pond ,
SCADA system implementation to allow monitoring and control of the
HYDAC unit , layout of HYDAC unit with new raw water piping and
electrical requirements for the unit .
These services include preparing construction drawings for process piping
to and from the HYDAC Unit that was selected by owners representative
and is being purchased by Indian River County . This task will include
coordination with the on - going FRP Piping Replacement Construction
project . This coordination includes providing the design of the concrete
pedestals . drain piping , shop drawings , and electrical details for
installation of this unit .
Task 2 — Minor Site Plan Modification
Assist the utility staff in preparation of the application to the Community
Development Department for the minor site plan modification necessary
for the contractor to obtain a building permit for the construction of the
Clean.vell and Post Treatment Facility at the South R . O . WTP . This task
will include a meeting with the Technical Review Committee ( TRC

assisting the utility staff in preparation of the response to the TRC , and
providing them the requested information for this project , including
drainage and setback plans .
Schedule
We will provide our services within a reasonable length of time which will
run concurrently with the project construction schedule .
Task 1 — HYDAC Installation Design $ 5 , 550
Task 2 — Minor Site Modification $ 1 . 200
Engineering Total $ 6 , 750
KHA will perform the services described in the Scope of Services for a
lump sum fee of $ 6 , 750 .
Services not included in this Scope of Work
• Engineering related to the selection of the HYDAC sand filter unit .
• Permitting related to the discharge of the backwash from the HYDAC
sand filter .
Closure
Consultant will provide these Services in accordance with our non -
exclusive professional engineering agreement dated November 13 , 2001 ,
between Indian River County and Kimley - Horn and Associates , Inc .
