1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />183 <br />The several County Depositories filed their monthly statements showing receipts <br />and disbursements for the month of August, which having been checked over, were found <br />to be correct. <br />There being no further business, on motion made, seconded and carried the Board <br />adjourned until the regular meeting to be, held in October 1928. <br />Chairman <br />- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *' - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - <br />R TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2nd 1928. <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at <br />a <br />the Court House in Vero Beach, on Tuesday, October 2nd 1928 at 10 o'clock .A.M.with the <br />following members of the Board present: John H. Atkin, Chairman; Geo A. Braddock; <br />I. W. McBruce; J. J. P. Hamilton and 0. 0. Relseth. Also present were E3.les Warren, <br />Clerk and J. H. Sutherland, Sheriff. <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved by the Board. <br />The Tax Collector filed his month3y report of license collected for the month of <br />ptember 19289 showing $3.00 collected for the State and $3.00 collected for the County. <br />Several citizens appeared before the Board respecting Road B-4 South of Glendale <br />ve. and East of Emerson Ave. It was ordered that the Chairman and County Engineer <br />ook this over and put the road in proper shape for travel. <br />1rs Bary L. Daniels of Vero Beach was ordered placed on the pauper list to receive <br />5.00 per month for the next three months while her son, Lawrence Smith, is serving <br />ail sentence. <br />0 <br />Petitions requesting the respective persons to become candidates and requesting <br />t their names be printed on the official Ballot for the General election for the <br />es•named, and signed by the required number of registered voters, were presented <br />considered and the following persons were ordered placed on said official ballot for <br />the office designated, to -wits - <br />Presidential Electors, Democratic Party. <br />Sara Landrum Cawthon <br />Stephen M. Sparkman, Sr. <br />County Surveyor. <br />Egerton E. Carter <br />Prosecuting Attorney County Court. <br />George W. Walters <br />The Certificate of the Republican convention, certifying the nominees of that party <br />ror the offices designated having been received and filed according to law, the said <br />certificate being signed by J. L. IPowers, Chairman and.Bruce Bazler, Secretary, and being <br />?roperly attested, it was ordered that the following persons, as nominees of the Repub- <br />Lican party be placed on the official ballot for the General Election to be held November <br />Sth 1928, to -wit: - <br />Representative in State Legislature <br />H. T. Seaver <br />Tax Collector. <br />Chester C. Gow <br />Superintendent of Public Instruction. <br />J. L. Powers <br />County Commissioner District No .4 <br />Axel T. Peterson <br />County Commissioner, District No. 5 <br />N Axel Hallstrom <br />
