to -wit: <br />62 <br />The Chairman read the foregoing notice and open bids as follows <br />O'HAIRE'S OFFICE EQUIPMENT CO. Vero Beach, Fla. <br />Art Metal #2128 - 36" x 84" x 19 7/8" with <br />end panels: $649.00 <br />Alternate Bid: <br />Globe -Wernicke #DF8439B - 36" x 84" x 181/2" <br />with end panels $598.00 <br />HUCK OFFICE EQUIPMENT CENTER, INC. Ft. Pierce, Fla. <br />7 Art Metal Double-faced units #2128 <br />complete with finished end panels $840.00 <br />Price includes delivery and complete <br />installation. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner <br />Macdonald and unanimously carried, that the alternate bid in the sum of <br />$598.00 of O'Haire's Office Equipment Co., be accepted. <br />Mr. Heath Cliff appeared before the Board and stated that he <br />and his wife felt that they should have been granted homestead exemption <br />on their property, Lot 8, Block 2, River Oaks Estates Unit #1. He stated <br />that he. had registered his car in Florida, placed his child in school and <br />done everything he thought was necessary.to be eligible for homestead <br />exemption and presumed that he was legal resident of Florida.. He requested, <br />the Board to reverse the decision of Homer Fletcher, Tax Assessor,and grant <br />homestead exemption on his property. After considerable. discussion, <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by.Commissioner <br />McCullers and unanimously carried, that the request be denied. <br />Mr. W.D. "Bill" Frederick, Public Defender for the Ninth, Judicial <br />Circuit appeared before the Board and presented his proposed budget for the <br />year beginning October 1,, 1963 and ending -September 30, 1964. He explained <br />that Indian. River County's share of the.budget would be $2,199.00, based <br />on population. He also requested the sum of $366.50 as this County's <br />share to carry him through the months of August and September, 1963; Motion <br />-wavamtAi by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and, <br />'unanimousky carried, that funds be, taken from County Contingencies, Fine <br />and Forfeitur8`Futed, for` Public 'Defender expenses for the months of August' <br />
