Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded <br />• by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried authorizing theft the <br />budget heading for Public Defender be set up in the amount of $2,199.00 <br />in the 1963-64 Budget. <br />•Rp1ph Lundy, representing the Progressive Civil League of <br />Gifford, appeared before the Board and reported that the Dedication of . <br />the Inlet Beach and Beach Park was a success and felt that from all <br />indications the beach would be used. ,He thanked the Board for their <br />cooperation in the matter. He made the fol lowing requests of the Board: <br />1. That the Board consider paying the salary of a lifeguard <br />at the Inlet Beach during the 1964 summer season. He was informed by <br />the Board that something would be worked out at that time. <br />2. That the County fill in some of the streets in the Gifford <br />area where conditions are bad. He stated that in some places water <br />stands for'several days after it rains because the roads are much lower <br />than the yards. The Chairman suggested that some of the Commissioners go <br />to Gifford with the County Engineer and look into the matter of maintaining <br />these streets. <br />3. Requested a lease between the County and the Inlet Beach <br />Association on the public park. The County Attorney was instructed to <br />prepare this lease. <br />4. Recommended that the voting place in the Gifford precinct <br />be either the Gifford High School or the Gifford Elementary School. <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner Haffield, seconded by <br />Commissioner Waddell, and unanimously carried, the following Resolution <br />was adopted: <br />'363 <br />
