Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commis- sioner Waddell and unanimously carried, that a 45 mile an hour speed limit be placed on 20th avenue between 12th street and Glendale Blvd. Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commis- sioner McCullers and unanimously carried, that Tom Trent be appointed as C ivil Defense Director of Indian River County at a salary of $200.00 monthly and that the City Council be requested to contribute $100.00 a month toward his services and that the Clerk send a letter to the City Council with this request. Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commis- sioner Waddell and unanimously carried, that the Annual Financial Report of the County be accepted. The following monthly reports were received and ordered filed•; The County Service Officer, the County Agent and the County Welfare Worker. Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Haffield and unanimously carried, that the Clerk be authorized to make monthly payments to the following on items budgeted: Alfred Lane, lawn care, $40.00; Florida Child Welfare Service, $500.00; Humane Society of Vero Beach, $150.00; G. Edward Baker, Zoning Dept., $40.00;' Indian River County Payroll.A/C, Blue Cross Premiums -Co. share, $100.00; Philip Nourse, State Attorney, $72.42; George Heath, State Attorney, $72.42; Clerk, Orange County, Public Defender, $183.25; -Sheriff's Budget, 1/12 of year and County Judge's Budget, 1/12 of year, also quarterly check, Indian River:County Library Assn., $2,500.00.
