.WZDNISDAY,14BRUARY 5, .1964 <br />• <br />The Board of County Caimissioners of Indiazf River County, <br />T' Florida, net at the Courthoua4,: Vero Beach, Florida, in a rear <br />meeting held at 8:00 o'clock, A. M., Wednesday, February 5, 1964. <br />All members were present. Also present were Ed Schmucker; County <br />Engineer, John Sutherland, County Attorney, and Al Webber and Freda <br />Wright, Deputy Clerks. <br />The. Chairman asked if there wtre A any changes. or additions <br />to be made to the minutes of January 8 and 22, 1964. There were <br />none and upon Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by . <br />Commissioner Haffield and unanimously carried, the minutes were <br />approved as read. <br />At Webber reported that Miles B. Mank II, County Judge, .had <br />filed a.report of receipts and expenditures for the period of nine <br />months preceding October 1, 1963, when his office went on the Budget <br />system. This report was filed January 27, 1964, with the consent of <br />the State Comptroller. <br />Jim Howard of the Florida Forest Service of Indian River County, <br />appeared before the Board and gave a resume of their activities for <br />1963 and filed a written report with the Board. <br />The County Engineer presented a Contract Agreement from the <br />Florida East Coast Railway pertaining to maintenance costs of railway <br />crossings. After considerable discussion, Motion was made by Commis- <br />sioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously <br />carried, that a figure of some kind be put in the Contract for an annual <br />maintenance amount not to exceed actual maintenance costs and furnish <br />or make the contract be actual maintenance costs subject to audit. <br />The County Engineer reported that drainage in unrecorded sub- <br />divisions have become a great problem. He reported that in the Howard <br />Preston Subdivision he has been unable to secure the necessary easements <br />for drainage. After considerable discussion, Motion was made by Commis- <br />' sioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously <br />carried, that an appeal be made to the Indian River Board of Realtors <br />QOOK ra; c 533 <br />
