RESOLUTION NO. 1557 <br />MUMS, 8, t e Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County is authorised, under the provisions of Section 336.59 <br />of the Florida Statutes, to levy an annual tax for road and bridge <br />purposes; and <br />YEAS, unddr the provisions of said Section 336.59 of <br />the Florida Statutes, it is provided that one-half of the amount <br />realised from such special tax on property within the City Limits <br />of Vero Beach shall be turned over to said City to be used solely <br />for the purpose of maintaining and repairing the roads and streets <br />of said City; and <br />WHEREAS, some heretofore unanswered fiscal questions have <br />arisen from time to time with regard to an accounting to the City of <br />Vero Beach on the part of Indian River County for the proper distri- <br />bution of such funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the County Engineer of Indian River County has, <br />on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners of said County, <br />presented to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Vero Beach <br />on the date of February 4th, 1964, a statement showing the distri- <br />bution of such funds so collected over a period of years, which <br />report shows that such funds have been properly applied and accounted <br />for to the City of Vero Beach; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has, during the period of <br />time covered by said report, expended considerably more money on <br />the roads and streets within the City of Vero Beach than it has <br />.collected in taxa therefrom for road and bridge purposes; and <br />WHIMS, the City Council of the City of Vero Beach is <br />satisfied with such accounting and feels that the County Commis- <br />sioners of Indian River County have made a showing of. a proper <br />distribution of all sums to which the City pay have been entitled <br />under the pr visioas of 'said section 336..59 of the Florida Statutes; <br />
