Proposal for Indian River County Department of Utility Services <br /> Archaeological and Historical Survey <br /> of the Spoonbill Marsh Wetland Facility Project Area <br /> Indian River County, Florida <br /> Respondent proposes to complete an archaeological and historical survey of a project area totaling <br /> approximately 23 of 69 acres for Indian River County Department of Utility Services, Vero Beach, <br /> Florida. The respondent will perform a field survey in accordance with the National Historic Preservation <br /> Act of 1966 (PL 89-665) as amended and the Archaeological and Historic Preservation Act of 1974 (PL 93 - <br /> 291 ) as amended and will be performed under the direction of a RPA-registered professional archaeologist. <br /> In addition, all work will meet the guidelines set forth in the Historic Preservation Compliance Review <br /> Program of the Florida Department of State, Division of Historical Resources and any local county <br /> requirements. Survey methodology will employ shovel testing in 25m- 100m transects at 25m- 100m <br /> intervals with judgmental testing at areas identified as low probability in the predictive model developed <br /> for the site. All soil will be screened through 1 /4" hardware cloth and all material recovered will be <br /> stabilized and analyzed at the respondent ' s laboratory facilities in Tampa. A recommendation for <br /> determination of eligibility or ineligibility for the National Register of Historic Places will be contained in <br /> the report following completion of the survey.
