Ms. Polly Kratman GeoSyntec Consultants <br /> Indian River County <br /> 10 May 2006 <br /> Page 5 <br /> Subtask 2.2 — Development of Site Investigation Work Plan <br /> GeoSyntec will review previous geologic, hydrogeological and geotechnical <br /> investigation reports and documents completed as part of the permitting and operation of <br /> the IRCL facility as well as previous regional hydrogeologic and geologic investigations <br /> conducted by the U. S . Geological Survey (USGS), Florida Geological Survey (FGS), and <br /> universities. GeoSyntec will review the available data to prepare a site investigation work <br /> plan to obtain the supplemental hydrogeological and geotechnical data required for the <br /> design and permitting of the Class I landfill expansion to comply with the requirements of <br /> Rule 62-710 .410, FAC . <br /> The Site Investigation Work Plan will consist of the following items : <br /> • Planning and preparing for the site hydrogeological and geotechnical <br /> investigations, including: <br /> o Reviewing existing hydrogeological and geotechnical information to refine <br /> the extent of the field work proposed herein; and <br /> o Developing and finalizing the proposed investigation work plan <br /> (drilling/sampling methods, boring locations, piezometer and monitoring <br /> well installations, sampling and analytical testing, hydrogeological testing, <br /> geotechnical laboratory testing, and location surveying) including review <br /> and comments by SWDD. <br /> • Procurement of drilling subcontractor. <br /> • Implementation of the Proposed Site Investigation Program. <br /> • Preparation of the Hydrogeological and Geotechnical Investigations Report to <br /> comply with the requirements of Rule 62-710 .410, FAC. <br /> A copy of the Work Plan will be submitted to the FDEP Central District Office in <br /> Orlando, Florida for information purposes only. GeoSyntec will schedule a meeting with <br /> FDEP to review the Work Plan, as part of the pre-application process, and will address <br /> their comments prior to proceeding with the next phase of Task 2. <br /> XL06096UL60070.doc <br />
