Ms. Polly Kratman GeoSyntec Consultants Indian River County 10 May 2006 Page 5 Subtask 2.2 — Development of Site Investigation Work Plan GeoSyntec will review previous geologic, hydrogeological and geotechnical investigation reports and documents completed as part of the permitting and operation of the IRCL facility as well as previous regional hydrogeologic and geologic investigations conducted by the U. S . Geological Survey (USGS), Florida Geological Survey (FGS), and universities. GeoSyntec will review the available data to prepare a site investigation work plan to obtain the supplemental hydrogeological and geotechnical data required for the design and permitting of the Class I landfill expansion to comply with the requirements of Rule 62-710 .410, FAC . The Site Investigation Work Plan will consist of the following items : • Planning and preparing for the site hydrogeological and geotechnical investigations, including: o Reviewing existing hydrogeological and geotechnical information to refine the extent of the field work proposed herein; and o Developing and finalizing the proposed investigation work plan (drilling/sampling methods, boring locations, piezometer and monitoring well installations, sampling and analytical testing, hydrogeological testing, geotechnical laboratory testing, and location surveying) including review and comments by SWDD. • Procurement of drilling subcontractor. • Implementation of the Proposed Site Investigation Program. • Preparation of the Hydrogeological and Geotechnical Investigations Report to comply with the requirements of Rule 62-710 .410, FAC. A copy of the Work Plan will be submitted to the FDEP Central District Office in Orlando, Florida for information purposes only. GeoSyntec will schedule a meeting with FDEP to review the Work Plan, as part of the pre-application process, and will address their comments prior to proceeding with the next phase of Task 2.
