JAN <br />0• »t 4 <br />The Chairman read the foreyoin g Notice and opened Bids as follows: <br />Adams Construction Equipment <br />$15,981.00 <br />Kelly Tractor Co., West Palm <br />$15,997.00 <br />Co., Orlando, Florida <br />with trade <br />Beach, Florida <br />with trade <br />Due to the fact that the Caterpillar equipment traded in had been <br />in use by the County for twenty-five years, the availability of parts, <br />and that the majority of County equipment is Caterpillar and the parts <br />will <br />be interchangeable, Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by <br />Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried, that the bid of Kelly <br />Tractor Company be accepted. <br />A letter was received from Mr. George 4. Whiteside, Mr. Frank W. <br />Chaffee, and Mr. John Beadle requesting that Tantrick Road in Surf Colony <br />Subdivision, recorded in Plat Book .3, page 37, Indian River County records, <br />be changed to Sea Turtle Lane. Motion was made by Commissioner ,tiaddell, <br />seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried that the <br />request be granted'and instructed the County Engineer to assign a number <br />as well as the name, Sea Turtle Lane, to the street. <br />Mr. Harold S. Winner, Realtor, appeared before the Board and stated <br />that: he had a listing of approximately G3 acres with 900 feet river <br />frontage and 1490 feet ocean frontage, located one quarter mile south <br />of Wabasso Road and also another parcel of 40 acres adjoining, and <br />wondered if the County would be interested in the parce14 for park purposes. <br />The Board informed Mr. Winner to present a proposed lease -option agreement <br />and the County would be happy to consider it. <br />e• - <br />The County Engineer presented several quotations for a lawn mower <br />to be used at the county ;;park in Rockridge subdivision. Motion was made <br />by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, and un- <br />animously carried, that the County purchase a Model 306RD Snapper from <br />Greene's Gas and Appliances for $36.55. <br />t:otion was made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner' <br />Waddell, and unanimously carried, that the following appointments for <br />Deputy Sheriffs be approved: Lucille McGill, James A. Pease, Charles <br />G. Edwards, Larry P. Fosson, Roy C. Dobeck, Evelyn L. Walters, Janice <br />Wood, Curtis D. Bentley, Lem Brumley, Jr., Vernon W. Khail, George E. <br />Thornton, John A. McCants, George A. Hughlett, William H. MacBlain, <br />
