Mr. Peter Cassara appeared before the Board and complained of <br />. the condition of Citrus Road and, rged the Board to pave that portion west <br />of Emerson Avenue as soon as possible. The County Engineer was requested <br />to look into the situation and report the costs of acquiring the right of <br />way at the next meeting. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Waddell and unanimously carried that Thomas H. Trent, Civil Defense Director, <br />be authorized to attended the conference previously scheduled for February <br />9 and 10 in Lakeland, at such time as it is re -scheduled. <br />The Chairman read ar:letter from the Veterans Council thanking the <br />County for the work done at Memorial Island and requesting the further <br />joint efforts of the County and the City of Vero Beach to maintain it. <br />The County Attorney reported that, in closing out the Klingensmith <br />transaction, he had gotten a thirty -day binder on $8,000.00 fire, extended <br />coverage and vandalism, in order to have the building properly insured. <br />Upon Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Haffield, <br />this insurance was approved. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Waddell, and unanimously carried, that the Clerk notify Walter T. Erickson <br />to vacate the building he now occupies by April 1, 1965. <br />The County Attorney informed the Board that the City of Vero Beach <br />has given notice of condemnation on the Pohorsky house and upon Motion <br />by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Haffield, and unanimously <br />carried, the Chairman is authorized to file a claim in the Pohorsky Estate. <br />The County Engineer requested permission to purchase a used sign <br />applicator from the City of West Palm Beach for $150.00. This request <br />was denied. <br />The County Engineer requested permission to hire three men for <br />three or four weeks to thoroughly clean* the Courthouse. Motion was made <br />by. Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Haffield and unanimously <br />carried that the Engineer is authorized to hire the help needed to clean <br />the Courthouse and also authorized a "one-shot" insecticide extermination <br />for $75.00. <br />sc®OSA&119,, <br />FEB 1 01965 <br />
