BOOK 9 MEM <br />.Thomas H. Trent, Civil Defense Director, reported that'an engineer <br />would be in Vero Beach in approximately two weeks and requested permission <br />to have him inspect the Courthouse basement and the building in. which <br />the Civil Defense offices are located to see what is needed to create <br />an emergency operating center. .Motion was made by 'Commissioner Mac- <br />donald, seconded by Commissioner.McCullers and unanimously carried <br />that the request.be granted. <br />Mr. J. D. "Jim".Kinsel, Assistant Director'of Governmental Sales <br />Division for'Square Deal Machinery Company, presented a film"Power ,`for <br />Profits" showing the .various uses of Case equipment. <br />The County Attorney presented a. proposed bill to•be enacted by <br />the Legislature authorizing the Board by resolution to require that <br />lands in the.county be cleared of weeds, debris, and any noxious <br />material.
