Every <br /> precaution shall be taken to ensure placement without bridging of the <br /> materials as they are introduced into the well . <br /> 3 . 3 . 11 The CONTRACTOR shall be solely responsible for any defect in the <br /> cementing work and casing deformation due to improper, or lack of, <br /> equipment, technology, personnel or experience, either of <br /> CONTRACTOR or of any of his Specialty Subcontractors . <br /> CONTRACTOR shall pay all costs necessary to correct such defects . <br /> Should CONTRACTOR fail to correct defects, the ENGINEER may <br /> refuse to accept the well . <br /> 3 .4 Setting Time : <br /> 3 .4. 1 No drilling operations shall be permitted until the grout has cured . <br /> 3 . 4.2 Minimum setting time between stages shall be at least 12 hours. Longer <br /> time shall be necessary when high-yield cement is used . After cementing <br /> is completed on a casing, casing and well must remain undisturbed for at <br /> least 24 hours for setting of the cement. <br /> 3.5 Tag Depth : <br /> 3 . 5 . 1 The CONTRACTOR shall demonstrate the tag depths to the satisfaction <br /> of the ENGINEER and regulatory inspector prior to each grouting stage at <br /> all of the wells. The depth to the top of the existing grout or borehole <br /> shall be determined by washing out the annular space, if necessary, as <br /> approved by the ENGINEER and regulatory inspector. <br /> 4 . 0 PAYMENT <br /> 4 . 1 Cement : <br /> 4. 1 . 1 The cost of cement and cement pumping shall be paid at the unit price per <br /> foot of cemented casing as stated in the CONTRACTOR ' s Bid Schedule. <br /> This shall include all necessary equipment, materials , and subcontracted <br /> services required to properly cement the casing as specified herein . <br /> 4 . 1 .2 Payment for all work, materials, and equipment specified in this section , <br /> which are required to tag the top of each grout stage shall be included in <br /> the ubit price per foot of grouted casing as stated in the <br /> GROUT <br /> 02090 - 5 <br /> C\DOCUME— I \mikeh\LOCALS— I \Temp\Temporary Directory Ib for IRC wells Div 1 .zip\08-IRC_Grout.dcc <br /> 10/17/07 <br />
