SECTION 02678 <br /> WELL DEVELOPMENT <br /> 1 .0 GENERAL <br /> 1 . 1 Scope of Work: <br /> 1 . 1 . 1 This section covers the work, materials, and equipment necessary for <br /> the development of the wells, complete. <br /> 1 . 1 . 2 The total development time per well is estimated to be 4 to 8 hours per <br /> well . However, the ENGINEER shall be the sole judge as to when <br /> development is complete and shall, therefore, increase or decrease the <br /> total development time. <br /> 2 .0 PRODUCTS <br /> 2 . 1 2 . 1 Personnel <br /> 2 . 1 . 1 The CONTRACTOR shall furnish capable personnel and equipment to <br /> develop the wells by over pumping, as specified. <br /> 2 . 2 Equipment <br /> 2 . 2 . 1 The CONTRACTOR shall provide all materials, labor, and equipment <br /> including pump(s) , flow meter(s) , piping, valves and appurtenances <br /> necessary for developing the well by over pumping. <br /> 2 .2 . 2 The setup for pumping a well during development by over pumping <br /> shall be in accordance with Section 02200 PUMPING TEST. <br /> 3 .0 EXECUTION <br /> 3 . 1 DEVELOPMENT BY OVERPUMPING : <br /> 3 .31 . 1 Operate the pumping development equipment continuously at such <br /> rates of discharge (between approximately 1 ,500 and 2,000 gpm) and <br /> such periods of time as determined by the ENGINEER. The well shall <br /> be pumped until the water is free from sand, silt, and turbidity and/or <br /> until no further improvement in turbidity and specific capacity can be <br /> observed .
