The County Enginner recommended that a 35 mile per hour speed <br />limit be set on 34th Avenue from 12th Street to 14th Street. On <br />Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Haffield <br />and unanimously carried that the speed limit be set as recommended. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Waddell and unanimously carried that the following agreement with <br />Mrs. Florence Mett for right-of-way on Fellsmere Road (State Road #512) - <br />be approved: $825.00 plus moving the fence along 512 into her property: <br />putting in no more than 15 loads of marl to improve the road into her <br />property and to clean out the ditch going to her house. <br />The County Engineer reported that the offer of $4,700 made to <br />the owners of the right-of-way for the extension of Citrus Road between <br />O. S. #1 and the railroad has been refused. He had a second appraisal <br />made and,this figure was $7,800. The Board postponed further action <br />until a later date. <br />The County Engineer reported that the Tax Assessor has requested <br />that storm shutters be made for his office as the records in his office <br />cannot be replaced with money. The Board instructed the Engineer <br />to examine the most essential windows in the Tax Assessor's office <br />and gait a cost estimate of material needed. <br />A petition was received with forty-six signatures requesting <br />that Citrus Road from King's Highway (Lateral B) to Monroe Road be <br />paved. On Motion by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner <br />Waddell and unanimously carried, the petition was ordered filed. <br />The County Engineer presented a request from General Development <br />Corporation that the streets and drainage structures in the following <br />named streets in Vero Beach Highlands unit One be accepted for <br />maintenance by Indian River County: <br />sopt 9 PAGE 261 <br />
