Dr. Vernon stated that the proposed investigation <br />would begin in January, 1966 and that the estimated cost of the <br />partial year, January to September, 1966 would be $9,375.00. The <br />Board postponed action on the proposal until a later date. <br />Mr. H..E. Hales, Assistant to President, Florida East Coast <br />Railway, presente&to the Board a proposal to install traffic -light <br />type signal protection at the following crossings at a cost of <br />$9,000 each, oT!which the county would pay one-half and the FECRR <br />would pay one-halfa Bay Street, Hobart Road, North Gifford Road,' <br />Cemetery Road, North Winter Beach Road, 4th Place (Citrus), 1st <br />Street (Swords), and Lindsey Road. The Board felt that to eliminate <br />the middle crossing between North and South Gifford Road, the railroad <br />should give part of their right of way to connect this road with <br />North and South Gifford Road and the railroad should install a traffic - <br />light type signal at either North or South Gifford Road in return <br />for the elimination of this crossing. An agreement for protection. <br />at South Winter Beach Road wall executed several years ago but never <br />installed and the Board was of the opinion that this crossing should <br />be included in the proposal. Mr. Hales requested the Board to send <br />a counter -proposal on the above items to the Florida East Coast <br />Railroad for their consideration.. <br />Mr. George Boone appeared before the Board and stated that he <br />proposed to dredge a channel in front of his property north of <br />Sebastian., Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded <br />by Commissioner Waddell and unanimously carried, that the Clerk <br />be instructed to write a letter to whom it may concern that the <br />Board does not have any objections to the application for proposed <br />dredging by George Boone. <br />Attorney Chester Clem presented a release signed by William. <br />Wesley Fendley and Vivian Fendley stating that they have no objections <br />to the vacation of the entire plat of the W. B. Hoover Subdivision and <br />a Certificate from the Clerk of the Circuit Court that all State and <br />County taxes on the property have been paid for the current year, 1964, <br />
