Retirement District: All that part of the Mk of the NE4 of Section <br />14, Township 31 S, Range 18 E, lying west of Roseland Road, containing' <br />approximately 31 acres. <br />County Agent Forrest McCullers reported. to the Board that as <br />agriculture has increased, the paper work of his office has doubled <br />and that he has secured the services of John McQuire, Assistant County <br />Agent of Brevard County, on a part-time basis at no cost to the County. <br />The Agriculture Extension Service is required to comply with the <br />Civil Rights Act and he is required to personally report to the Board <br />that he is complying with the Act. <br />The Board requested the County Agent to make recommendations <br />and suggestions. on planting and transplanting at the South County <br />'Beach Park. <br />At. the request of Tom Trent, Civil Defense Director, each member <br />of the Board appointed an alternate to serve should it be necessary <br />at the .time the Civil Defense Council needs to act. <br />Commissioner Waddell moved that the Civil Defense Director be <br />authorized to go to Jacksonville to confer with the Director of <br />Civil Defense should he find it necessary. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously carried. <br />Motion was:made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Haffield,and unanimously carried that an expenditure not to exceed <br />$100 be authorized to 'repair the tile and door at the Civil Defense <br />office. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by <br />Commissioner Waddell and unanimously carried that the Clerk be reques.ted <br />to write the State Comptroller concerning the bill from Frank Electric <br />Company for wiring and labor at the.storage.building at the jail; and <br />to pay the authorized charge of $256.95 for double throw switch. <br />BOOX 9 PAGE 3Oi <br />SEP 9e11965 <br />
