Retirement District: All that part of the Mk of the NE4 of Section 14, Township 31 S, Range 18 E, lying west of Roseland Road, containing' approximately 31 acres. County Agent Forrest McCullers reported. to the Board that as agriculture has increased, the paper work of his office has doubled and that he has secured the services of John McQuire, Assistant County Agent of Brevard County, on a part-time basis at no cost to the County. The Agriculture Extension Service is required to comply with the Civil Rights Act and he is required to personally report to the Board that he is complying with the Act. The Board requested the County Agent to make recommendations and suggestions. on planting and transplanting at the South County 'Beach Park. At. the request of Tom Trent, Civil Defense Director, each member of the Board appointed an alternate to serve should it be necessary at the .time the Civil Defense Council needs to act. Commissioner Waddell moved that the Civil Defense Director be authorized to go to Jacksonville to confer with the Director of Civil Defense should he find it necessary. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously carried. Motion was:made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Haffield,and unanimously carried that an expenditure not to exceed $100 be authorized to 'repair the tile and door at the Civil Defense office. Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and unanimously carried that the Clerk be reques.ted to write the State Comptroller concerning the bill from Frank Electric Company for wiring and labor at the.storage.building at the jail; and to pay the authorized charge of $256.95 for double throw switch.
