work and after about two weeks .the doctor recommended light work. The <br />doctor's recommendation was presented to the County Engineer and he <br />was told that there was no light work. Mr. Harp requested the Board <br />to give him some relief. <br />The County Engineer stated that the recommendation of the <br />doctor.as to light work also recommended five rest periods a day and <br />that with the limited number of employees there was no way he could <br />hire him with these privileges and, that in his opinion, Mr. Harp <br />was not ready to go back to work. <br />The Board informed Mr. Harp that, while they were in sympathy <br />with him, there was nothing they could legally do for him, and suggested <br />that he make an appeal to the compensation board to re -open the case. <br />They offered him aid through the Welfare Department, which would be <br />grocery orders. <br />The Board then adjourned until 1:30 o'clock P. M. <br />The Board re -convened at 1:30 o'clock P. M. All members <br />were present, except Commissioner Waddell. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by <br />Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried, that the County Engineer <br />be authorized to advertise for bids for a pole truck, endloader, tractor <br />mower and a well point system. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Haffield and unanimously carried, the County Engineer was authorized <br />to purchase a brush burner at a cost of $480.00. <br />OnMotion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Haffield and unanimously carried, and on the recommendation of the <br />County Engineer, the performance bond of $500.00,deposited by Kenneth <br />K. Atha, for Haven View Subdivision, be released. <br />The County Engineer presented two agreements extending the <br />performance bonds to May 31, 1966 On Vero Beach Highlands Unit 2 and <br />Vero Shores Unit 2, signed by General Development Corporation and <br />Continental Casualty Company, and on Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, <br />seconded by Commissioner Haffield and carried, the Chairman and the <br />Clerk were authorized to execute the agreements. <br />Boor Aitt 349 <br />OCT 20 1965 <br />
