The construction sign posts shall be 6 inch x 6 inch x 12 feet CCA pressure treated southern pine <br /> placed 4 feet into the ground with sand fill compacted around each post. For each sign, theplywood <br /> panels shall be bolted to each post using 3 galvanized steel bolts with a washer on each side. The <br /> bolts shall be 3/8 inch x 8 inches. The signs shall be erected at the Sebastian Inlet State Park Day- <br /> Use Area for Sectors 1 & 2and at a location to be determined for Sector 7. The CONTRACTOR <br /> shall verify location with the COUNTY prior to construction. The CONTRACTOR shall consult <br /> with the COUNTY to determine the location for signage prior to construction of Sector 7. The <br /> CONTRACTOR shall remove the signs when construction is complete. <br /> 15 . ELECTRICITY <br /> All electric current required by the CONTRACTOR shall be furnished at the CONTRACTOR's <br /> expense. All temporary connections for electricity shall comply with NEC 1990. In the event <br /> electricity is made available by the COUNTY, the CONTRACTOR shall, at the CONTRACTOR's <br /> expense, install a meter to determine the amount of current used and such electricity shall be paid or <br /> charged to the CONTRACTOR at prevailing rates or at reasonable rates as determined by the <br /> COUNTY. All temporary lines shall be furnished, installed, connected, and maintained by the <br /> CONTRACTOR in a manner satisfactory to the COUNTY and shall be removed by the <br /> CONTRACTOR in like manner, at the CONTRACTOR's expense, prior to completion of the <br /> construction. In accordance with NEC Article 305-6, the CONTRACTOR shall provide ground fault <br /> circuit interruption (GFCI) on all 120 volt 15 and 20 ampere, single-phase receptacles used for <br /> construction power. Ground fault circuit interrupters are not an acceptable substitute for grounding. <br /> 16 . EXCLUSION OF THE PUBLIC <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall exclude the public from the immediate work area at all times during <br /> construction. The CONTRACTOR shalt post a minimum of one dedicated employee for the sole <br /> purpose of full-time, 24-hour per day security at the discharge location. The CONTRACTOR shall <br /> be required to erect, maintain, and move as necessary, restrictive barriers around the discharge of the <br /> hydraulic pipeline. The barriers shall be constructed so as to prevent the public from approaching <br /> the discharge from any direction closer than 100 feet. The CONTRACTOR shall post signs at each <br /> barrier in a conspicuous manner stating, "DANGER — HIGH PRESSURE DISCHARGE — KEEP <br /> OUT" <br /> If the CONTRACTOR is not able to keep and maintain the public at a safe distance form <br /> construction activity, the CONTRACTOR is to notify the COUNTY or ENGINEER and request <br /> assistance in controlling public access to the active construction site. <br /> 17 . TRAFFIC CONTROL <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall provide and maintain barricades, security guards, warning signals and <br /> flagmen as required by FDOT Specifications Section 102, by other state or federal regulations or as <br /> directed to ensure public safety . All work under this section shall be included in the Traffic Control <br /> bid item . Trenching and earthwork shall be conducted in a manner to cause the least interruption to <br /> traffic. Where traffic must cross open trenches, the CONTRACTOR shall provide suitable bridges . <br /> TECHNICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIFICATIONS Rev October 5 , 2007 TS-20 <br />
