18 . NIGHT OPERATIONS <br /> During night operations, the CONTRACTOR shall provide lighting necessary to safely accomplish <br /> the work and fully comply with all OSHA requirements . The CONTRACTOR shall shield or orient <br /> the lights to minimize light on the dune crest and landward which could disorient drivers or disturb <br /> residents. The CONTRACTOR shall limit beach dressing, grading, and tilling to daylight hours. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall minimize noise, particularly in densely populated areas. <br /> From March 1 through April 30 and from November 1 through November 30, direct lighting of the <br /> beach and near shore waters must be limited to the immediate construction area and shall be the <br /> minimum allowed to comply with safety requirements. The CONTRACTOR shalt abide by all <br /> permit conditions, specifically Florida DEP Specific Conditions -] 2d of the Sector 7 permit and 9I -- Detetee: i <br /> fTBD) of the Sectors 1 & 2 (Ambersand) permit regarding the construction lighting. Lighting on <br /> oc <br /> offshore or onshore equipment must be minimized through reduction, shielding, lowering, and <br /> appropriate placement to avoid excessive illumination ofthe water' s surface and nesting beach while <br /> meeting all Coast Guard, EM 385-1 - 1 , and OSHA requirements. Light intensity of lighting plants <br /> must be reduced to the minimum standard required by OSHA for General Construction areas, in <br /> order not to misdirect sea turtles. Coast Guard governing lights <br /> and day signals to be displayed as approved by the Secretary of the Army and Commandant, U. S . <br /> Coast Guard.
