Additional information to be provided to the COUNTY shall include tide curves and <br /> corrections and field notes, and a I " = 200' plan view plot showing proposed profile <br /> lines and surveyed tracklines <br /> 34. 8 Oversight. Surveys shall be conducted by the CONTRACTOR with oversight by the <br /> COUNTY or its representative. The CONTRACTOR shall provide 24-hour notice to <br /> the COUNTY prior to conducting survey work. The COUNTY shall provide an <br /> observer for all surveying work unless the oversight requirement for a specific task <br /> and/or block of time is waived in writing by the COUNTY . Surveying work <br /> accomplished shall be reported by the CONTRACTOR in the Work Summary section <br /> of the Contractor' s Daily Quality Control Report. Surveys not conducted with <br /> COUNTY oversight or written waiver shall not be eligible for approval . <br /> 34 .9 Qualifications. All surveys shall be performed under the direction of a Professional <br /> Surveyor and Mapper registered in the State of Florida. Said surveyor should carry <br /> Professional Liability Insurance. The land surveyor employed for this project must <br /> comply with the minimum Technical Standards for land surveyors in the State of <br /> Florida pursuant to Florida Statute 472.027 adopted rule 121HH-6 . All surveys <br /> submitted to the COUNTY shall bear the surveyor's signature and sea] . <br /> 34. 10Costs. All costs associated with surveying shall be included in the survey bid item . <br /> 35 . USE OF UPLAND SAND SOURCES <br /> The CONTRACTOR may propose an upland sand source and truck hauling for the project. Upland <br /> sand source bidders must submit documentation that the proposed sand source meets the mean grain <br /> size, percent fines, and other characteristics of the offshore borrow materia] identified in these <br /> documents. Use of a source material with a grain size less than the mean grain size of the offshore <br /> sand source is not acceptable. Use of material not closely compatible (as specified by the <br /> ENGINEER) with the existing beach sand or offshore borrow site is not acceptable. The <br /> CONTRACTOR must propose adequate measures to ensure that large shell and rock debris is <br /> adequately screened from the source material and must provide a Quality Assurance program to <br /> ensure the quality of the source material. <br /> Any upland source material proposed shall be free from construction debris, rocks, clay or other <br /> foreign matter, and shall be obtained from a source landward of the Coastal Construction Control <br /> Line or from a source authorized pursuant to Section 161 .041 , Florida State Statutes. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall submit a representative sample ( 15 in'-) of the proposed sand with his <br /> bid within a seated, air-tight container or bag with a certified independent testing laboratory analysis <br /> results report. The report to be submitted with the CONTRACTOR ' S bid shall include: <br /> (a) Grain size distribution graph <br /> (b) Carbonate fraction <br /> (c) Grain size analysis (including mean grain size, sorting and percent fines) <br /> TECHNICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIFICATIONS_ Rev October 5 . 2007 TS-35 <br />
