SECTION 01050 - Surveying and Field Engineering <br />1.1 GENERAL <br />A. Provide civil, structural br other professional engineering service's specified or required <br />for executing the CONTRACTOR's construction methods. <br />Be Develop and make all detail surveys and measurements needed for construction <br />including but not limited to, slope stakes, batter boards, piling layouts and all other <br />working. lines, elevations and cut sheets. <br />C. Keep a transit and leveling instrument on the site at all times and a skilled instrument <br />man available whenever necessary for layout of the Work. <br />D. Provide all material required for benchmarks, control points, batter boards, grade <br />stakes, and other items. <br />E. Be solely responsible for all locations, dimensions and levels: No data other than <br />written orders of the ENGINEER shall justify departure from the dimensions and levels <br />required by the Drawings. <br />F. Safeguard all points, stakes, grade -marks, monuments and benchmarks made or <br />established on the Work, and reestablish same if disturbed. Rectify all Work <br />improperly installed because of not maifitaining,. not protecting ox removing without <br />authorization such established points, stakes, marks and monuments. <br />G. When requested by the ENGINEER, provide such facilities and assistance as may be <br />necessary for the ENGINEER to check line and grade points placed by the <br />CONTRACTOR. Do no excavation or embankment work until all cross sectioning <br />necessary for determining pay quantities has been completed and checked by the <br />ENGINEER. <br />1.2 CONTRACTOR'S FIELD ENGINEERISUPERINTENDENT <br />A. Employ and retain at the site of the Work, a field engineer and/or superintendent <br />capable of performing all engineering tasks required of the CONTRACTOR. These <br />tasks include, but are not limited to: <br />1. By 4:00 p.m. on each workday, prepare and submit to the ENGINEER, a list of <br />work to be completed the following day. The projection shall include: <br />a. Location of all areas in which construction will be done (including <br />Subcontractors). <br />b. Major construction equipment utilized. <br />c. Equipment and materials to be installed. <br />2. Check all formwork, reinforcing, inserts, structural steel, bolts, sleeves, piping, <br />other materials and equipment. <br />3. Maintain field office files and drawings, Record Documents, and coordinate all <br />work with Subcontractors. Prepare layout and construction drawings for <br />construction operations. <br />4. Check and coordinate the Work for conflicts and interferes and immediately <br />advise the ENGINEER in writing, of all discrepancies noted. <br />5. Coordinate with the ENGINEER in field inspections. <br />1.3 SURVEY WORK <br />A. Prior to commencing work, the CONTRACTOR shall satisfy himself as to the accuracy <br />of all survey and existing site information as indicated in the Contract Documents. <br />Immediately notify the ENGINEER upon discovery of any errors, inaccuracies or <br />omissions in the survey data.
