On Motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald, the following Resolution was unanimously adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 66-21 WHEREAS, the City of Fellsmere has a number of real properties i located within the municipal limits which have reverted to the State of Florida under the Murphy Act; and WHEREAS, on said real properties there are presently unpaid taxes outstanding to the Fellsmere Drainage District and the City of Fellsmere; and WHEREAS, on a public bid, as is required by the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund, it is practically impossible to sell these real properties on today's market; and WHEREAS, because of the unexpected shutdown of the Okeelanta Sugar Mill, a major source of income and employment to the citizens of the City of Fellsmere has been eliminated; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fellsmere is attempting tofind means how these real properties can be sold in a practical manner and is anxious to have assistance from various state agencies in an effort to re -vitalize the economy of the community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, in regular session, this the llth day of May, A. D. 1966, as follows: 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, solicits advice, help and suggestions in any way possible, and as quickly as possible, from state agencies, particularly the Comptroller and the Florida Development Commission, and other local governmental agencies, with regard to the aforesaid matters. 2. The Board of County Commissioners of\Indian River County, Florida, is prepared to meet with officials of state and local govern- mental agencies at any time convenient to each such agency to present their problems in detailed form.
