FLORIDA 32960 RESOLUTION No. 1828 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vero Beach has recognized the necessity for providing recreational facilities for the happiness and well-being of the citizens of said city entertainment for the tourists who visit this section, and also to enable the youth of the community and county to have constructive outlets for their leisure hours, and WHEREAS, during the past recent months the City of Vero Beach has expended, on recreational facilities, the sum of approximately $40,000.00, which consists of the installation of additional soft-ball,fields, the construction and installa- tion of additional shuffle -board courts, the necessary grading, and drainage and placing of field lights upon said ball fields ' and of Indian River County4 as well as to provide and WHEREAS, all of these been so recently installed recreational facilities that have by the City of Vero Beach, and at the expense of the taxpayers thereof, as well as.the other recreational facilities of the City are available and are in daily use by the citizens of Indian River County in general, and WHEREAS the City of Vero Beach, in addition to the large sums expended in the construction of the recreational facilities herein described, also defraysthe.cost of maintenance, super- vision and operation of said recreational facilities, which entails great expense upon the taxpayers; of the City of Vero Beach NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERO BEACH, that we do request the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, out of contingent or other funds that may be available for that purpose, to reimburse kytif' ��5�(A . ;Gig 11 d. 173 AttS12
