Mr. William G. Taylor, Architect.,. presented sketches of the <br />proposed Courthouse annex. It was the opinion of the Board that <br />the sketches were very satisfactory. <br />John Charles Mitchell, Attorney for the Board of Trustees of <br />Indian River Memorial Hospital, requested the concurrence of the. <br />Board of County Commissioners in the redemption of $10,000 of hospital <br />bonds issued in 1959 as recommended by the auditors of the Trustees. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner <br />Macdonald and unanimously carried that the request be approved, subject <br />to the limitation that the Board of Trustees does not borrow short <br />term operating money during the next year at an interest rate greater <br />than 4%. <br />David Wells, a student, appeared before the Board and requested <br />that he be issued a permit to carry a pistol. Mr. Wells was informed <br />that the Board':did not _feel tthat'`_he had presented sufficient reasons <br />to enable them to issue him a pistol permit and on Motion by Commissioner <br />McCullers, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald, and unanimously carried, <br />the request was denied. <br />Mr. Russell Burks requested the Board's approval of an extension <br />of the boundaries of his water and sewer franchise in the Gifford area. <br />He was informed that a petition should be filed and then the Board <br />will hold a public hearing on the matter. <br />The County Engineer presented and discussed the alignment of the <br />proposed Indian River Boulevard. A letter of objection was filed <br />from Maurice W. Provost, Director of the Entomological Research 'Center, <br />regarding the alignment at Oslo Road juncture as it affects State <br />interests. The, Courzty__Engineer Will get the approval of the City of <br />Vero Beach and the Indian River Farms Drainage District on the project. <br />Attorney John R.
