r. <br />R E S O L U T I O N <br />66-29 <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has acquired by dedication <br />from the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund of the State <br />of Florida the island known as Round Island and the island known <br />as No Name Island; these islands being located westerly of property <br />described as Lots 14, 15 and 16, plat of Kansas City Colony Subdivi- <br />sion, as recorded in Plat Book 4, page 23, in the public records of <br />St. Lucie County, Florida; said land now lying and being in Indian <br />River County, Florida; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has acquired and is acquiring <br />the title to the above-described lots 14, 15 and 16 of Kansas City <br />Colony Subdivision through purchase of part of the property and, <br />also,has a lease purchase agreement over the balance of the <br />property; and <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Mosquito Control District <br />is in the process of filling all of the above-described property <br />for the purpose of eradication of mosquitoes and other insects; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County desires to use all of the <br />above-described property for recreational facilities, and in order <br />to use the two islands it is necessary to construct a causeway <br />from Lot 14 of Kansas City Colony Subdivision westerly to No Name <br />Island and to construct an additional causeway from No Name Island <br />to Round Island, and in order to do so an application has been <br />made to the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers for permission to con- <br />struct the necessary causeways and bridges to connect said islands <br />to the mainland; and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary for Indian River County to secure <br />permission and a dedication from the Trustees of the Internal <br />Improvement Fund of the State of Florida for said bay bottoms in <br />the area where the causeways will be constructed; <br />AUG 10 1966 <br />tok ma 671 <br />
