WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5, 1966 <br />The Board of County'Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, <br />met in regular session at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida, on Wed- <br />ne4day, October 5; 1966, at 8:30 o'clock A. M. Present were Robert <br />W. Graves, Chairman; D. B. McCullers, Vice -Chairman; Donald Macdonald,. <br />Jerre J. Haffield, and Dr. B. O. Waddell. Also present were Jack <br />Jennings, County Administrator, John H. Sutherland, County Attorney, <br />and Alfred H. Webber and Ruth Elliott, Deputy Clerks. <br />:.a The Chairman asked if there were any corrections or additions to. <br />the minutes of September 7 and September 21, 1966. There were none and ' <br />on Motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Haffield <br />and carried, the minutes were approved as written. <br />Mrs. Gladys Vigliano requested that Will Taylor of Fellsmere be <br />placed in Elsie Jones home for nursing care at a cost to the County <br />of $50.60 per month. On Motion by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by <br />Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously carried, the request was approved. <br />Mr. Will Jones, Executive Vice -President of Minute Maid Groves, <br />and. Mr. Troup, Mr. Norris and Mr. Nichols, their Engineer, appeared <br />before the Board and submitted a proposal to grant to Indian River <br />County,, the necessary right of way for three miles of road from Oslo <br />Road to the County line. Mr. Jones showed the proposed route from <br />Oslo Road through St. Lucie County to Orange Avenue on a map which was <br />viewed by the Board. DUringc;theAiscu$sion.,, _ :t ,.wasrbrought out that <br />Minute Maid has drainage canals` on either side of the right' of way, the <br />distance from center of canals being 100 feet and also that Minute`Maid <br />desires to maintain the canals. Commissioner Waddell suggest4d that it <br />might be advisable to accept a 70' riljht of way but obtain a perpetual <br />easement from Minute Maid to drain the road bed into their ditches. <br />Commissioner Macdonald moved that the County Administrator be instructed <br />to join in with the St. Lucie County_ Engineer and meet with them in any <br />discussion and/or meetings regarding this project and report back to the <br />board at the next meeting. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Mc - <br />Cullers and unanimously carried. <br />INT 31966 <br />um 10 PAGE 1. <br />
